Except she really isn’t . It’s a tkts crowd . It could be any name above the title .

Like when Donna Murphy took over for two weeks and only brought in $722,574 during the second week in summer? Pah-lease. By far the lowest of the entire run - what do you think would have happened had she then stuck around for the next 4 months like Bernadette did if that was her second consecutive week - or started in the dead of winter? Give Bernadette some credit where credit is due. This show isn't holding itself up and everyone knows it, that's why as soon as the names are gone the show is closing.

I don’t know what your talking about. Bernadette is great. But she might as well be Marie Osmond. At this point the show is just a choice for the tourists to attend a broadway show. It has nothing to do with who’s above the title.

Yeah, I'm sure if Sally Struthers was playing the role, the "tourists" would just be as likely to go see it. LMAO. Bernadette is a major Broadway name. She may not be driving all the attendance but she's certainly driving some of it.

WICKED had the same fate - poor reviews, but an audience favorite. Now in it's 15th year.

That's a stretch. Wicked received mixed reviews, but there were raves among those. Summer received mostly brutal review. I am surprised that it is doing as well as i is, but I do not believe it will translate into a super-long run. Look how well Charlie... did early in its run at the Lunt-Fontanne; and Addams Family, and Neverland, and Motown. Seems to be a pattern with that theatre, only exception is that it never crossed my mind that Summer would start off so strong (not as strong, mind you, as every one of those other shows.
I am betting that its run will be more like Charlie than any of the others, and I don't actually think it will make it to year-end. Word of mouth will do it in.
