You guys make good points about PIPPIN'S Theatre, but at 98.9 percent they are only making 785k out of 1,025 possible So they aren't selling the premium seats to make that million mark. If they could sell more seats at their $100 tkt average, they could make more dough.
Does that make sense?
TONY Awards might help them a lot.

I wouldnt say Matilda isn't a hot ticket.. Rather i'd say all three seem to be hot tickets, as they all seem to be selling out.

What's everyone's opinion on the effect Jane Lynch will have on Annie's grosses?

Well , considering the weekly nut for PIPPIN is 525K they're doing pretty damn well at 785K last week. The whole point of using a smaller theatre was to create demand, keep the show running (" the Weaslers"), and charge top dollar . If these grosses hold steady, the show may recoup within the first year !

I would think the nut is higher than that.
It will take a lot more time to recoup than that.

ANN is probably cheap as hell to run. It's not like Lincoln Center is having to pay rent, etc. And they want to keep their prime theater open as long as possible. Plus, I'm sure they're hoping she gets the Tony.

What is everyones thoughts on Spider-Mans grosses? I dont think they are great but I think once school's let out, it will be getting 2 million a week again.

When summer arrives and school is out 'Cinderella' will sell well.

I'm under the impression that ANN is not a Lincoln Center production...

Words don't deserve that kind of malarkey. They're innocent, neutral, precise, standing for this, describing that, meaning the other, so if you look after them you can build bridges across incomprehension and chaos. But when they get their corners knocked off, they're no good anymore…I don't think writers are sacred, but words are. They deserve respect. If you get the right ones in the right order, you can nudge the world a little.

Laura took part in the reading of the 'Into the Woods' film as Rapunzel. I know that does not guarantee that she will be in the movie, but if she were to be a part of it, they could get a name to temporarily replace her in 'Cinderella' during the fall months. That is the time of year where Broadway shows decline.

The movie is to begin shooting this September.

LCT is an associate producer on it, and they are also the theatre owner. It's a placeholder show until they can get a big show of their own together. Operating costs are very low, so I'm sure they aren't losing money on it.
