It's cause everyone went to see Company :)
oh well, wishful thinking anyway
Once Grey Gardens is gone there won't be any shows whose grosses I even care about.
Go Mamma Mia, I guess...
That was probably the highest percentage of attendance that Company had throughout their run. So sad.
Highest Gross ever for Spring Awakening.
I am surprised there was generally a drop across the board the week before a major holiday. Even many of the shows that went up in attendance % went down in actual money grossed.
How does "Lion King" still have full houses? Hasn't everyone and their mother seen it already?
I haven't seen it yet.
I stand corrected.
Glad to see Disney had a great week..........
It's kind of weird that after this week, I'll no longer open these links and dread seeing just how low those Company grosses will fall. I'll miss it terribly, but it will be liberating not to have to watch the show die.
true! The grosses were always painful for that reason.
wow, nice job COMPANY in their final week
GREY GARDENS...eh, youre slipping...probably a reason why youre closing
DROWSY...also slipping. As others have said, I do expect a closing notice for this show by the end of the year, unless if they stunt cast or something. This is tourist season, its summer- the show should be pulling in better numbers.
And LEGALLY BLONDE mightve taken a dive, but I don't see that being bad, at least for right now. The show still did very well gross-wise.
tarzan did graet
Huge bump up for COMPANY. I'm just glad that people got out and saw it before it closed. Those actors deserved an audience, and I'm glad they went out on top.
DEUCE is dying (wasn't it dead on arrival?).
INHERIT THE WIND is really filling up the Lyceum. More proof that Tony wins mean nothing.
LEGALLY BLONDE dropped $100,000 in gross. Ouch.
I'm glad people got out and saw RADIO GOLF in its last week. It was a wonderful play and it deserved a longer run.
SPRING shot up $37,000 in gross. Very nice. Looks like people continued to buy tickets even with the elimination of discount codes.
TARZAN may have filled the theatre to $92.9%, but a Disney show should NOT have an average ticket price of $64.80.
And DROWSY is slipping away.
Legally Blonde will survive. Hopefully they'll lower their ticket prices.
It is disappointing to see Drowsy keep slipping. It needs some good PR. I expected it to go up during the Summer?
Though not too sure about it's new slogan. I too wish they would have used one of their own Costumes in the new Ad. Are they having a Costume change? I wish the Gold bathing suit matched the rest of the Logo, it would have helped some. It would have looked better with the old Red Logo and Phonograph to me. It really is all about the Man in Chair but I guess they are afraid to emphasize that because of the Cast changes?
I can't wait until it comes to SFrancisco but that isn't until next year. I still hope the numbers pick-up before too many miss a hilarious Show.
Wouldn't it have been nice to see Beth as the Chaperone in the Publicity Ad? That would have been a keeper for me!
It's good to see that people went out to see Company in its last week. I can't believe Grey Gardens is going to be gone too, as well as a lot of other shows. *sigh* I wish the casts the best of luck.
I think Drowsy's going to be gone by the end of this year if it keeps on slipping like this. But when it goes, I hope it goes out with a bang. The Producers was a huge hit and had a long run, but towards the end, it was depressing to see it suffer and die a quiet death.
why is XANADU'S income SOOO small?
Because it's playing at the smallest Broadway house (500+ seats) while alll other shows play medium to big houses (1000+).
Gotta love those numbers for Company. At least it ended on a high note. But you have to wonder if they kept it open until Labor Day if it might have had the chance to brake even.
Loving the high numbers for ACL ever week. It's a shame that despite the show completly selling-out of Fri., Sat. & Sun night(including all SRO spots) that its grosses still dropped.
