Nice to see THE ASSEMBLED PARTIES leave us on a good note.
Nice bump for SPIDER-MAN, looks like it still can hit its nut, presumably.
But woof, LET IT BE.
Very good week for my favorite musical, "Chicago". Wow, challenging times for "Let It Be" and "Soul Doctor."
Did Wicked have an Actor's Fund performance last week? Noticed there were 9 performances.
First Date isn't tanking as badly as I thought it would! Good for them.
At $443K, First Date might even be making money!
Congratulations SOUL DOCTOR for another awesome week!
^^^HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA^^^^
I have on fairly good authority that First Date's nut is approximately $450,000. Just about breaking even, which isn't bad for early in previews when presumably, the word isn't completely out. It may stick for a few months.
Don't worry, I have no delusions that it'll survive the winter.

The sad irony bites - at the same time that MOTOWN is doing well, look what's happening to Motown!
Might First Date actually make it through into the holidays??
My guess is yes. When I saw it the first week, the audience around me was LOVING it, as if they were watching Book of Mormon. And I've heard that kind of response from others who saw it. Of course, I've heard some negatives too, though mostly reading here and "that other board" online. It's probably not a show that critics will be inclined to like walking into the theatre, but if they're at all swayed by they crowd around them, First Date could have a decent life. Going next week again right before the opening. Curious to see what's changed.
