Wow! Wicked and Lion King neck and neck! from RC in Austin, Texas

"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

so how soon before Whoopi steps into Sister Act?? if not Whoopi, then they could stunt cast the lead.

Unless Sister Act gets their act together at the box office, I think it'll be gone by January.

And another amazing week for Spider-Man! Congrats!

Also, how long do you guys see CATCH ME lasting with those numbers? Compared to MEMPHIS it seems about the same and MEMPHIS has gone on for a while now...

Does anyone know Sister Act's weekly running costs? I don't understand why everyone's saying it's doing so awfully. It may not be at maximum capacity but it's still pulling in over $700,000 a week. Is it so expensive to run?

I can't imagine it's too expensive. It's the same sets and everything from London. So I can't imagine it was too expensive to mount on Broadway, and it doesn't have a HUGE cast or anything.

WICKED did 120% of potential? After, what, a decade?

That just amazes me.

Legallybroadway...not gonna lie...I'm shocked by their numbers. They will be around for a while. The real question is if when they do close...if it will be after earning a profit.

Wicked didn't really do 120% of their potential. They raised their orchestra prices for the summer (it's now $141.25) but for some reason that's not reflected in the grosses. The Lion King also raised their orchestra prices and that change IS shown - you can see on 05/29 their potential went from $1,526,632 to $1,690,268.

WICKED has hit the magic $2 million. I believe it was last holiday season if I'm not incorrect. I know it was a big deal cuz it was first for any Bway show.

I said on a week that wasn't on an occasion. They hit 2 million only during holiday season.
