though it hasn't been announced, SOMETHING ROTTEN is closing this January. They're not making much money now during the busy summer season & the grosses will dip below their weekly nut come September. The St. James is planning a major renovation before FROZEN takes the theater, which is expected to take roughly a whole year.

I won the lottery, along with at least 50 others.
Can't see it lasting much longer."
I went on Sat night and there were a bunch of empty seats. I also won lottery. It will be a shame if they close. I think it's an amazing show.

Is that your opinion or do you know that for a fact?

Advance warning- The 'Trending Now' Photos on the New York Post sidebar are a bit NSFW, Melania Trump's adult photos..
But that is the article that places Frozen at the St. James Spring 2018 after an extensive theatre renovation. Something Rotten COULD last until Feb/March, but if their sales are down now, the bleak Jan/Feb downturn doesn't bode well. Cut losses and focus on marketing the tour (launching in January), to try and make back the rest of its initial investment (on top of the tours).
So while not an official announcement, the writing appears to be on the wall for the 2014/2015 season to disappear completely sometime in early 2017.

I know it for a fact. The St. James hasn't had their balcony open since May. It's barely making money & getting above their weekly nut. There's no way it makes it's weekly nut come September. Also, the major renovation to the St. James will take nearly a year, so ROTTEN will be forced out regardless of their grosses.
