DEATH BECOMES HER - Replacement Cast?

Sep 8, 2025 — 6:41:39 PM

BroadwayNYC2 said: "“But coins are coins and Viola is essentially a prestige princess track. While vocally demanding, there isn’t much to demand in the dance or acting department. And Nicole has the clout now to negotiate a good deal. If the producers think she will bring in enough money to offset her cost and profit, they will make it work.”Please be for real for 5 seconds."Right? The ONLY way Nicole would be Viola at this point would be if they made a musical film based on the Broadway show...

DEATH BECOMES HER - Replacement Cast?

Sep 6, 2025 — 3:29:14 PM

Helen Replacements: Ana Gasteyer, Cecily Strong, Kerry Butler, Leslie KritzerMadeline Replacements: Laura Benanti, Jane Krakowski, Renee Elise Goldsberry, Sherie Rene Scott There are plenty of top tier performers who could replace and find similar magic/chemistry. Then use the Viola track to star cast pop divas and drag queens in slower months.

I never saw it but I think it is a smaller show and would love to see it play a smaller theater like The Booth or Jones."Daniel Radcliffe would be a great Ed Kleban in A Class Act who could sell the tickets needed to make this profitable.. Hudson would be a good size house for it..

Smash changed ending SINCE OPENING-SPOILER

fray3 said: "I do believe OP asked which other shows changed after opening. Even if they are wrong about Smash, that's not a response to their question It's great to correct people when they're wrong, but there are ways to do that without being mean or insulting."Not on the Broadway World Message Boards, unfortunately.

But this does seem to be the only one since at laeast 1980.

One that wasn't meant to be a limited run I mean"Edited to Correct my error.. Yes, Leap of Faith seems to be the only Tony Nominated Best Musical (at least since 1980) to close between Tony Nominations and the Awards. Anything else that had been struggling and closed usually did so a week or 2 after the Tony Awards. Didn't...

Sutton Ross said: "So, your example is from 11 years ago, Bridges had been running since January of the year (so months longer than the shows he mentioned), and didn't have producers with hugely deeply pockets. Many, many shows ran for months and months because of the producer's deep pockets despite the not amazing grosses. Boop and Real Women Have Curves have extremely wealthy, famousproducers and they are looking to find their audiences. They will hopefully wait longer for these shows to cat...

Sutton Ross said: "Oh honey, why? Play nice. Everyone comes at it from their own angle."Since the beginning of Covid, he stated "Broadway will never come back" and all of these insanely dramatic always wrong predictions. Like, when it snowed a QUARTER of an inch, he predicted the shows would be canceled for "weeks". He is just ridiculous with his assumptions and is always wrong. Does anyonehonestly think if these shows were closing in a few weeks they wouldn't have announced it by now? He get...

Same.. and at this point, they might as well wait until 2028 and do a 25th Anniversary Revival on Broadway.

Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 9/15/24

I think Cabaret will stay close to sold out, especially with TKTS/discounts, but I could see the Avg Ticket price dropping down into the $150 range, lowering the weekly grosses to about $1.25M/wk. It was in the $200+ per ticket range for the first part of it's run but fell off to the $170/$1.7M range at the end of Rankin/Redmayne's run. If the advance stays this light through Lambert/Cravalho run they will need to start looking to MUCH bigger stars to pull the grosses they need to pay off the...

It is probably barely breaking even most weeks and has only played to sold out houses 3 weeks since it opened. The Winter Garden has too much potential profit for the Shuberts to let an underperforming show stay there long term. They kicked Mamma Mia out for Rocky thinking a new show would be more profitable for...
