Interesing how South Pacific has the second highest average ticket price at $110.00 but the lowest top ticket price of $125.00. Anyone know why that is? Does LC just not sell higher priced tickets?
Lincoln Center is a non-profit and they do not sell premium tickets.
Trust me Lucifer, if I got to you first I would have rammed you into the ground for such a dumb ass remark.
I really like the fact that The 39 Steps is playing in the boondocks and is pulling in consistently good numbers. It'll be interesting to see if they can maintain through the upcoming leaner months.
Keep in mind that as compared with previous tenants at the Cort, THE 39 STEPS isn't selling the balcony. It is completely not for sale. So the percentages we see are those that only include the Orchestra and Mezzanine.
jessLUVSrent2: Rent did well this week because people know it's closing and want to see it before it ends.
WBaF, that is an excellent point. Even more to its credit though is the fact that the show is out-grossing many of the Cort's previous tenants.
Yes, WBaF, you are completely right. And, this, in my view is fraudulently reporting stats, %s, etc. based on less than the actual seating capacity. The figures, except for the actual gross are FALSE. Based on selling ONLY Orch and Mezz, by choice. Lying regarding *capacity*. They are doing WAY less than 84%. That balcony has 270 seats - -.
Not that I'm not happy that they're still playing - I love the show!
If the balcony is not on sale, those seats are not applicable toward the show's total seating capacity. There are no lies at play here. And as Frogs Fan mentioned, even with the balcony off sale, the show is still outgrossing most of the Cort's recent tenants.
Why isn't Young Frankenstein included on the list?

Wow. Seriously?
Oh, ok. because Mel doesn't want to report the show's grosses.

"Why isn't Young Frankenstein included on the list?"
Somehow Mel has the power to say no to this.
Hoping for a good Fall/Winter season.
Anyone can say no, not just Mel.
What was the last show, prior to 'Young Frankenstein' to not report it's weekly earnings?

Wow. HAIRSPRAY's grosses were still about average (which I know is what really counts) but I was surprised at its 78% capacity. Maybe the temporary move to two shows on Sunday backfired?
