Yikes for "Shrek" and "Mary Poppins." That's what happens when kids go back to school!
I guess if I want to go see Shrek, I should probably do that soon.
Yes sir, the fall slump has begun. I wonder how long Shrek will last.
I doubt Shrek will last past January unless something major changes. The Shuberts are going to want to grab one of the big spring shows to put in their biggest house that's more profitable than this.
What big spring shows? I can't think of anything else potentially coming in other than Minsky's which is rumored for the Marquis.

Summer's over! It is going to be a long two and a half months till Thanksgiving weekend.
There is lots of time for a show to pop up before May.
Also, rumors are just that. I don't know how many people on here tried to say they heard that La Cage was going into either the Golden or Circle in the Square.
If 'Catch Me' gets on its feet by spring, or any big show with more profit potential than 'Shrek' comes along (and if indeed, the Marquis does get Minskys) then the Broadway will be the only big house likely to be available.
Shrek will regain steam in a couple of weeks.

I read the press release. I don't understand what your point is.
Seems petty to point out, but Avenue Q had a higher % than Wicked
Shrek will do well in the Thanksgiving weekend. However, one weekend isn't enough to save it.

"Shrek" will also do well around Christmas. This is why the producers did not want to open until the holiday season last year.

If Shrek does get the boot, I wouldn't be surprised if a revival came together for something. I mean, it's such a big theater to waste. Although, I sort of hate it. You feel so far away!

So did about 4 other shows! What is your point? That Wicked isn't selling out but it's still making 1.4 million which is about twice of what it costs to run every week.
"What is your point?"
Plenty of teams beat the Red Sox, but when the Yankees do it, it is a big deal. Think about it

Just a LITTLE bit more and Billy will top Wicked...yea thats a big deal in my book:) Granted it'd be temporary but what the hell.

Doing well around holidays is typical. It won't be enough to save the show if this week's gross becomes the norm.

No, his point was that he was happy to see that the underdog show had a higher audience percentage than one of the biggest shows on Broadway. Granted, Wicked is in a significantly larger theater and has the ability to bring in a larger weekly gross, of course more people will be in attendance. Geez.

Can't see Shrek lasting if they pull in those figures for a few more weeks!
Big Spring shows that could do with that house are Love Never Dies, Priscilla, Dirty Dancing, a talked about Hello, Dolly and Brigadoon revivals and awaiting inports of First Wives Club and Catch Me if You Can...
Wow, I thought we went over this already. Dirty Dancing will not be coming to Broadway anytime soon.
