Don't know how many people on here play HQ Trivia on their cell phones. But this Monday, Sept. 24, HQ is hosting a Broadway Music themed game. Get 12 multiple choice questions right about Broadway music and you split the pot. (Usually $5,000). I don't have any more details than that at this point. The game is free, if you want help signing up PM me.
Good for you darquegk, quite good! I've won three times so far, but altogether it's less than $10 so I am waiting to cash out. I asked for this game repeatedly on Twitter so if I don't do well I will have to hide in shame. There are many on this board who could nail this.
Lits of questions...So is there only one game a day? Is it always at 9? Do you always know the subject?
Last 9ne - what does a referral code do??
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

On weekdays there are often two, sometimes three games. It varies. It is always changing and evolving. Currently, there are usually general trivia games at 3 p.m. (EST) on weekdays. There is a seasonal Football game going on at 7 p.m., and a 9 p.m. game every night. The constant is the 9 p.m. game. The others vary. Most games are for $5,000 but can be as low as $1,000 or $2,500. Recently there was a Winner Take All game (Emmy themed) for $100,000. They like to mix things up. The standard theme is general trivia, unless it is a special game. In addition to the Emmy special game, there was a Disney theme the other night. There is often a special Tech themed game in the afternoon. The games I've won have been the basic general ones. The usual number of questions is 12. Some afternoon games have had 8 questions. Some special themed games have had 15 questions, and winner take all can go on and on....
Referral Code is how you can sign up for HQ. Everyone enters a user name. If someone signing up to HQ uses your user name as a referral code you get one extra life. If anyone wants to use my username as a referral code I would be happy to share. Just PM me!
An Extra Life allows you to get a question wrong but get back in to the game. You can use one extra life per game but not on the very last question. Ironically, all three of my wins I won without using an Extra Life, go figure.
Although most games have 12 multiple choice questions, the first two questions are VERY easy, so really there is just 10. Although, I must admit I got the second question wrong once... I misread it. That's my story anyway and I am sticking to it.
HQ's main host is Scott Rogowsky. There are several others that fill in. This is a great game for people of all ages. My 12 year old niece in Spokane plays and she has kicked my butt on occasion. You can add friends ... and you can see each other's answers as you play... there is more to that, but that's enough to get started.
Hope you play, and I hope you or someone from this board wins Monday night.... I doubt it will be me... but I asked for this game so I will be playing.
I play a lot, but have only won twice. I believe each time the winnings were around $1.50. It's not really about the money as I just happen to like trivia.
Break a leg Jason and everyone else who plays tomorrow night. Report back!
A couple other things Mama, and other new players... A Savage Question is so-named when a high percentage of the players get the question wrong. This happens, because after the first few questions, they try to trick you. If you are guessing and there is an answer that seems stupid or doesn't belong... pick it. For example, a recent question asked something like "The audience for which sport has the highest average salary?" - Golf, Tennis, or Hockey. Answer- Hockey. We'll see if there are any savage questions on Monday.
Hmm...my app says there is a sports one at 7. Nothing at 3.
Did I screw things up already?

During football season HQ is holding some 7 p.m. Sports games. I do so poorly, I do not partake. In the past there have been general trivia games at 3 p.m. but it looks like they are doing 7 p.m. sports instead for now. Hope they get back to 3 p.m. games soon. Wednesday there is a $100,000 Winner Take All game at 9 p.m.
DARNIT! I made it all the way to the last question and was millisecond late answering. AND I WOULD HAVE BEEN RIGHT!
That's 97 cents I'll never see again!
(But it was fun. Easy, but fun.)

Congrats to the winners. It was fairly easy for us, but I got the last question wrong. Did people know the answer or was it a guess? I haven't seen Hamilton yet...
