Broadway & Plastic Surgery

Posted: 11/20/04 at 10:08amWhat do you guys think about Broadway stars and plastic surgery (cosmetic). Are there are ton of guys that have had their noses done and what about the girls? Does that old Chorus Line number "T&A" still hold true?

Posted: 11/20/04 at 10:34amI would think that anyone in show business has to look good. T&A holds true now, more than ever.

Posted: 11/20/04 at 5:25pmIt depends on the show, it depends on "the look." I think plastic surgery is extremely overrated. Talent is more sexy than a hot piece of ass.

I don't think it's all about the T and A in this business. The ones who I know who have had it mainly have undergone face lifts, rhinoplasties (nose jobs), chin implants or chin lipo, or cheek implants -- all that we call in the TV News business, "routine maintenance."
It's mostly to maintain a fresh look and to insure future jobs.

Posted: 11/20/04 at 6:38pmI highly doubt a lot of performers have had nose jobs simply because it can affect the singing voice for the worst. That is Why Barbara S. Never had a nose job. Fear of vocal problems.

Posted: 11/20/04 at 6:44pmI'll bet it gets done more often than anyone suspects and I think it's rather sad....
#7re: Broadway & Plastic Surgery
Posted: 11/20/04 at 7:18pmI agree that the nose jobs might be in small numbers because if the danger.

Posted: 11/20/04 at 7:22pmjust think about this.. My teacher @ cap 21 was the girl who the tits and ass girl was BASED ON. She wound up originating the role in London and being the 1st replacement in the bway cast. She is a GORGEOUS lady but, well into her 60s... She looks like she is 40. So plastic surgery is still pretty big. For instance heh..look at chenoweths breasts :)

Posted: 11/20/04 at 7:42pmKristins breasts are definetely NOT fake! to quote Trekkie Monster, "I can tell!" =)

I agree that Chenoweth's boobs are real. My college roomate was built the same way--4'10" and a DD. Well that's when she was skinny, now she's an F!!
And I have two words for anyone who doubts that Broadway folks get work done: Marilu Henner.

Posted: 11/20/04 at 8:50pmI don't think Kristin's breasts are fake. I'm the same size as her, height and all, and my breasts are just as big, but because we're short and skinny it looks like they're super huge. I was watching her Boston Pops concert with my Dad and I commented on her dress and he said "It looks like a lot of silicon holding the dress up," but I honestly don't think so because I, along with many other women are her size and are just as voluptous. Unless...out of nowhere, they appeared, but I don't think so.

Hm, we're talking about Kristin Chenoweth's breasts.
Somehow I doubt we ever would have been talking about Ethel Merman's breasts.
Sign of the times, I suppose.

The topic is about broadway and plastic surgery. Someone used Chenoweth as an example of someone who they thought may have had plastic surgery, and I stood up for her because it seems that people feel as long as you're short and skinny you should be flat chested, and if you have any chest, people think it's fake, so I stood up for that comment because I'm always getting comments like that, and frankly, it's very irritating.
Oh, and, yes, times do change. I doubt anyone would have brought up Ether Merman's breasts, but times change, and people aren't afraid to give their opinion or talk about something like that in public anymore.

Posted: 11/20/04 at 9:25pmexactly what kind of bad results come out of getting a nose job? i mean im 14 so im most certainly to young to be thinking of it, but i think that as i grow older ill need one if i really want Broadway, i have what some ppl call the "Jessice Simpson nose", or my "Lebanese nose" all-in-all, my nose isnt downright ugly but it has a lump on it and stuff, does that mean that when i grow older i should get a nose job? i dont really want to...i dont like the idea of it..

Posted: 11/20/04 at 9:33pmyou have to do what feels right to you but , just know if you are a singer , it can do damage for the worse. I remember hearing a story about the lead girl in "Crazy For You". How amazing she was..and mid run she had a nose job and just didn't sound the same after the fact.

Crazy For You---Hmm----Jodi Benson, Karen Ziemba.
Neither took off enough time!
I don't think either had a nose job during their time with that show.....

from the photos it just looks like she lost overall weight.

Posted: 11/20/04 at 11:42pmI don't think it's a bad thing to think maybe Cheno has/had them. I don't think Idina got them, but who knows. Daphne got them. Everyone thought a friend of ours had them, but she didn't. Then a few years later the same firend had them put in and then got them taken out. Weird.

Posted: 11/21/04 at 11:47amThere are several guys on Broadway with no-so-perfect noses and they would not be as sexy if they got a nose job. And trust me, they are HOT! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Yeah, John is quite the hottie.
I agree with Phantom2, talent is HAWT. I am a sucker for a guy who can sing and a great dancer is quite aturn on.
