Broadway Shows vs. Board Games

Attention students:

Let's do a comparison of Broadway Shows to board games. For example, let's take Monopoly. It's a GREAT board game. Compare it to a Broadway show and explain why. We could do this with all the board games like Life, Clue, Othello, etc.

Who wants to start? This should be fun!

"I'm learning to dig deep down inside and find the truth within myself and put that out. I think what we identify with in popular music more than anything else is when someone just shares a truth that we can relate to. That's what I'm searching for in my music." - Ron Bohmer

"I broke the boundaries. It wasn't cool to be in plays- especially if you were in sports & I was in both." - Ashton Kutcher

yes, please explain JUST how to do it.
As someone told me lately: "Ev'ryone deserves the chance to fly!"... He's there, the Phantom of the Opera!... I dreamed a dream in time gone bye... This is the moment! My final test!... PS. Couldn't choose just one :-)

Marie Christine is like chess:

It's fun if you know what's going on, but is boring if you don't get it,

there is a big battle between the black and white folks,

and the most important piece is the queen diva (and she'll sacrifice anything to keep her man).

Anyone else? Am I the only one who wasted precious minutes forming the perfect analogy?

RENT (well, seeing it for the FIRST TIME, anyway) is like monopoly.

*You start playing and being so excited
*then you realize theres so much going on,and theres so many little pieces on the board and cards flying everywhere...its hard to keep track
*then you get the hang of the game and realize it goes on forever

::runs and hides::

ok, yes, the first time i saw RENT i hadn't a CLUE of what was going on...then i saw it again and loved it

Okay well this IS a great idea, it just takes some time to do it...

Hairspray, Wicked, or another classic musical would be like checkers because it's aimed for the whole family and every one can play it, also it's very easy to get the hang of and understand.

That was the best I can do, but it would be awesome if we could get more specific.

"Hairspray, Wicked, or another classic musical"

Not that I don't enjoy Hairspray and Wicked, but classic musicals? I don't think so...

I do like your anology though.
Honey, I don't produce theater. I am theater.

Falsettos is like poker:

-It's most exciting when all the chips are down.
-Often lying makes it unfold better.
-Two queens always makes a pair.
-It's really hard to find a straight.

Wasn't there a board game called Mouse Trap? I would've liked to see CATS caught in that one. :)
