Anyone have any suggestions for high powered, fast tempo songs from Broadway shows that would be great to work out to?
So far I have:
-Defying Gravity
-Altar Boyz - Remix
-A few songs from Movin' Out
-RENT
-Time Warp

I love working out to these (they are a bit random):
There's Gotta Be Something Better Than This - Sweet Charity
I'm Going Back - Bells are Ringing
Generally, I've found that any upbeat song where the character is like "Screw this!" works for me.
Is it weird I work out to show tunes? Yeah, I guess it is. Oh well! :)

Seriously, I'm not trying to be a dick. But it just doesn't do it for me, and apparently Marquise and Aigoo.
Even when I was in Into the Woods playing The Wolf/Cinderella's Prince I used a mix cd of NIN, Danzig, The Misfits, David Bowie and The Rolling Stones to put me in the right mood......
I just can't imagine power lifting to Sondheim.........

Totally understandable.
I feel guilty doing it and kind of weird. I'm always worried someone's going to hear what's playing through my headphones.
I also like working out to cheesy 80s pop. That's the best. :)

We're not talking what to listen to before doing a show. More, what song to do cardio to.
It depends on the show, but I'd have to say "Don't knock it till you try it", you may find it to be very helpful!

It's ok to workout to musicals!
Be proud! Musicals can be very inspirational and take you to the level you need for a good hard work out.

I knew I needed to load more pop music onto my ipod when I found myself doing high cardio to Defying Gravity.
I'm a musical theatre dork, but that's too much even for me.

Posted: 8/15/05 at 2:44pmI'm incorporating the works of Ethel Merman into my high cardio workout. 45 minutes on "the rower" with "rose's turn" blaring in my ears should do the trick.

Posted: 8/15/05 at 2:45pmActually, I find that "performing" some big solo numbers (i.e., "Betrayed" from The Producers) is a great workout. Then again, I'm a little chubby 'round the middle, so what do I know.
