re: Broadway Songs to Work out to...

Well, I work out to show tunes, "Passion" and "Pacific Overtures" are my current favorites. I work out 5-6 times a week. Try "All For The Best", is fun for cardo.

Carl, have you tried to incorporate "Babs" into your workout? I'm telling you it's "like butta". Simply sublime take my word for it.

Seriously, anything from RENT.

"America" from "West Side Story".
Now there is a good workout song!
Just strap on your cha-cha heels and go for it.

Well. When I go to the gym, my Ipod's on shuffle and if something broadway comes on, it's not my fault--30/90 (from Tick Tick BOOm!) is fun to do some stationary biking to re: Broadway Songs to Work out to...

re: Broadway Songs to Work out to...

I don't work out to Broadway songs very often, but if I'm having a day where I just really do not want to go to the gym, I find they are a bit of a movtivator. Listening to them reminds me of the business I'm going into and looking your best in this business is a must. That helps get me off my lazy rump and onto the elliptical.

Bonnie Tyler's "Tire Tracks and Broken Hearts" and "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going" are on my Ipod workout (I listen excusively to Bonnie as I work out - love those long songs, make it easier!)

Atypical, yes yes yes! That's exactly how I feel. It's a big push. It's like, "C'mon Mikah, get off your butt! Don't you want this for a career?"

re: Broadway Songs to Work out to...

Funny - I was just thinking about this today! All I pretty much have on my iPod are showtunes, and so I was trying to pick good ones to work out to.

You Can't Stop The Beat is the best - pretty much most of the songs from Hairspray - but the title song from All Shook Up is pretty good as well.

The absolute best is "Walk Him Up The Stairs" from PURLIE.
Followed closely by "Bless The Lord My Soul" from GODSPELL, "The Spanish Panic" from ONCE UPON A MATTRESS and "Rag Offen the Bush" from LI'L ABNER.

You'll be slim as a whippet in no time. Crippled, but slim.

Just One Step - Songs for a New World
Fame
Raise the Roof - Wild Party
Big Time - Linda Eder (I don't know what musical it's from...)

Then I mix it up with some Sarah Brightman and Lara Fabian!

re: Broadway Songs to Work out to...

Yes, show tunes aren't the first thing you think of when it comes to work out music, but You Can't Stop the Beat for Hairspray and Strongest Suit from Aida always get me going!

Pretty much anything from Footloose, and I really like running with BARE.
