CapnHook- I am so copying that playlist! Maybe it will motivate me to work out.
out tonight from rent is probably one of my favorite workout songs... anything with a really strong dance beat really.
the Entracte from They're Playing Our Song has lots of great stuff. Used to dance to it all the time.
I will admit shamefully... I listen to GREASE 2007 REVIVAL at the gym .. - only these 3 songs though...Grease (the song after prologue) , Grease Lightin' & Born to Hand Jive..
Cardio..running for 30 mins ... I can only to listen to Madonna's Live Concert. Believe it or not- I have her concerts on my iPod...(dont ask me... how? )
My favorites are THE GIRLIE SHOW, BLONDE AMBITION, REINVENTION TOUR, CONFESSION (which was released on CD) and yeah...THE VIRGIN TOUR...including rare live version of Borderline & Burning (which was not on video! - not a lot of people know that!) Somehow the audience yelling can give me more energy..don't know why?

Funny story :
When we went to LA last year.. I went to a gym and I was listening to Gypsy.. somehow I left my ipod ear sets (the white one) so I asked the gym.. if they have extraheadset .. they gave me a headphone (not the one that you can stick to your ear) I did not realize that if you turn on the volume way LOUD .. people can hear you....
While lifting weights (chest) ...they turned off the background music playing in the gym... I did not realize that these big muscular guys can hear my.....
Ethel Merman singing.....Coz... Everything..Comin' Up Roses!!!!
LOL!

Hey JayStarr where can I get the dance remix versions? I like your song selections.
My favorites are:
Swing and Conga from Wonderful Town (revival)
You Can't Stop the Beat-Hairspray
I find that "It's Your Wedding Day (Finale)" is the absolute best Broadway workout song. I play it over and over on the treadmill.
This is my workout playlist, as of now (I'm adding more to it):
"What Time Is It? (Jason Nevins Remix)" - High School Musical 2
"Here It Goes Again" - OK Go
"Dirrty (Tracey Young Radio)" - Christina Aguilera
"You Can't Stop The Beat" - Hairspray
"Girl All The Bad Guys Want" - Bowling For Soup
"He Said She Said (Von Doom Radio Edit)" - Ashley Tisdale
"It's Your Wedding Day (Finale)" - The Wedding Singer
Whipped Into Shape - Legally Blonde
One - A Chorus Line
All Around the World - Xanadu
It's Your Wedding Day - The Wedding Singer
Out Tonight (dance remix) - Karmine Alers
Dancin' - Xanadu
Dance at the Gym - West Side Story
Cabaret - Cabaret
Rhythm in Me - Altar Boyz
Here I Am - Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
We're in the Money - 42nd Street
Stand-by Joined: 9/10/05
Movin' Out in its entirety does wonders for the treadmill. Takes you from walking to jogging to running then back to walking. "We Didn't Start the Fire" is particularly great if you want to kick the machine's butt, as is "Pressure."
Other Broadway songs on my playlist (some have already been mentioned):
"Opening: I Hope I Get it" from A Chorus Line
"Whipped Into Shape" from Legally Blonde
"It's Your Wedding Day" & "Saturday Night in the City" from The Wedding Singer
"My Strongest Suit" from Aida
"Step in Time" from Mary Poppins
"Run and Tell That" from Hairspray
"Medley" from Jersey Boys
"On the Street Where You Live" from My Fair Lady (Though it's Bobby Darin's version.)
"America" from West Side Story
"The Farmer and the Cowman" from Oklahoma!
"Born to Hand Jive" from Grease
"Hot Honey Rag" from Chicago
Some other non-Broadway favorites:
"Lets Get Ready to Rumble (Hockey Mix)" from...one of the Jock Jams CDs
"Higher Ground" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers
"Canned Heat" by Jamiroquai
"Teenage Wasteland" by The Who (You'd be shocked how great this song is to run to. Try a speed of 4.5 on an incline of 3.0 once you get used to the machine for the full 5:09 this song lasts -- wonderful.)
"Are You Gonna Be My Girl" by Jet
"If You're Gonna..." by Natasha Bedingfield
"A Little Less Conversation (JXL Remix)" by Elvis Presley
"Under the Boardwalk" by The Drifters (A really nice cool down song.)
Enjoy your workouts.
