Broadway artist profiles spammed with AI-generated music (Spotify)

I have noticed a persistent problem on Spotify with Broadway artists. If you click through to their artist pages, there are many whose profiles are full of random singles, usually 2 to 4 minutes long, with AI-generated music and cover art. I don't want to listen to them because I don't want to give whoever is doing this money, but I've listened to a handful to confirm their veracity and they are absolutely AI-generated. No identified vocalists or personnel on the files either. To give a few examples:

• Andrew Rannells's profile has "Golden Hour."
• Alex Brightman's has "Stay with Me Till Dusk," "Breath Becomes a Memory," "Taking Back My Life," "Deeper Every Day," and "Melancholy."
• Zachary Levi's has "The Mushroom Faes," "The Garden," "The Big Sleep," "Moment of Tenderness," "Lantern Waltz," and ten more besides.

These were not hard to find. Click on an artist who has multiple cast albums to their name, or enough plays on a single cast album, and you might find another yourself. I found Roger Bart and Christopher Fitzgerald too just while clicking through some recommended songs. The commonality is none of these people have released music of their own, only ever appeared on albums/singles -- so these appear in a separate section from their "Appears on" lists.

I don't know what the aim of this could possibly be from a performer (and their team)'s perspective, so I have to assume there's some loophole making it possible for people to do this to artists who do not maintain a close eye on their streaming platforms. I find this pretty alarming. Has anyone else seen this? On other platforms? Do you know artists who know about it?

This is a universal issue Spotify has been plagued with recently. AI spammers can release music using an existing Spotify artist tag, get it posted as “by them” and then rake in streams.They haven’t plugged that hole yet but they’re working on it.

Thank you for addressing this situation.  I noticed it when a new Yvonne Elliman song popped up in my "For you" playlist, then Tim Curry, and Catherine Zeta-Jones.  I have complained to Spotify, without a response.  These AI tracks are pure garbage.

I’m surprised that Spotify didn’t already have a system in place in which verified artists had to approve tracks being credited to them.

They SEEM to, but you see these pop up mostly in fringe cases like defunct bands, prolific composers, or Broadway/studio vocalists for hire; since these tags either aren't being policed, or are often popping up tagged in disparate projects, the security seems looser.

In particular, "Peter Allen" has been prolific lately.
