Posted: 7/7/07 at 11:13amHow come on the main Broadway.com page Spring Awakening is NEVER listed as a recommended show? And they recommend like 15 shows, including "The Little Mermaid" which is still in rehearsals! Hmm? I just find it odd that Broadway.com would not even recommend the 2007 Tony Award Best Musical Winner for a show to see to the public buying tickets through their site! Again I say, hhmmm?

Posted: 7/7/07 at 11:33amThey're big on the group sales thing over there. They're going to recommend more family oriented shows for this reason.

Posted: 7/7/07 at 1:41pmI don't think so. For a while i wondered why they never recommended Wicked, but then I realized they didn't need to because it was selling out anyways.

Posted: 7/7/07 at 3:15pmI just feel that if something is universally acclaimed, sweeps the awards, and is loved my millions, it's hard to defend the POV that it's absolute, complete utter crap. I didn't enjoy Grey Gardens. I found it boring, pretentious, and self-important, and I thought Ebersole merely did a good impression, however you don't see me all over the board making snarky comments on every thread about it. Just because you (and a large group of people, i will admit) did not enjoy something does not mean it has no artistic value. I'm no Spring Awakening groupie, don't think it's the best show ever, and it wasn't even close to the show I enjoyed most this season, but I see the value in it. I think to dismiss it as crap is a little unfair.

Posted: 7/7/07 at 3:21pmWanna Be is correct. The reccomended shows pay to be placed in that listing.

Posted: 7/7/07 at 3:25pmAnyways, whoever is on Broadway trying to get tickets for a show is obviously a tourist. So it makes sense they would only have "touristy" shows.
