I always visit the Broadway in Bryant Park shows every Thursday. I am very sad that one of my favorites, "Mary Poppins" will not be performing this year after such a long time. Why is this? Is the show closing or is there another reason? I always found this performance to be delightful and "Practically Perfect".

Welcome back to BWW, Myron. Enjoy the summer series.

All shows get invited, it's up to them to decide whether or not to particpate. There is nothing that points to Poppins closing.

Things change as the season moves on. They might still end up performing.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I'm curious about this series, and I plan to attend, if work doesn't intervene.

How is it set up? Performers come out and sing? Are they in costume? What could War Horse perform? There is music in the play, but I would peg it as incidental.

There is a stage set up in Bryant Park. Each show performs all of thier numbers (usually 2 or 3) in a clump, then another show takes over. You never know if you will have leads, understudies or any combination. I think each week has 3 shows performing. NO costumes or set. The whole thing is very casual. (except the fangirls that scream)

I hope Wicked performs Defying Gravity.

They all call me a troll. Ok, call me a troll. If I stand on my own, so be it.

Myron: The schedule might change and Mary Poppins might get added. The schedule has changed already. (Sister Act got moved to a different date).
