Don't forget today's concert in Bryant Park will include "Hairspray","Wedding Singer", "Rent",and "Tarzan". The forecast is for hot and sunny so I am expecting some attendees to bring their umbrellas for shade. I wish they would sit in the back so they wouldn't block views of people who wish to see the performances. I also expect the "chatters" to attend. These are folks who merely come to talk in loud voices bothering those sitting near them. Such persons could care less about Broadway. With that said, hope we have a great show!
I'll be there! I'm bringing my friend who is here visiting me. Two weeks ago I got caught in front of two older ladies who wouldn't stop talking the entire show...let's hope they stay home this time.

I know what you mean. I got caught with 3 young mothers who brought a group of young girls with them. The girls wouldn't sit still for the entire performance; kept running around. The mothers chatted in loud voices for the entire performance.Even the huge speakers couldn't drown-out their voices. If I see them today, I will get up and move. I would even sit a mile away; I have had nightmares about these obnoxious people.
If someone talks, make sure you tell them to shut the hell up! I think its gonna be the best Broadway in Bryant Park EVER today! Im telling you, history will be made, the best 4 shows on Broadway together!!! Awesome, too bad i have commitments and i can't be in NYC right now. I expect a detailed review! thanks.
I am taking my two year old Niece. (Got to start them young)

I'm so jealous!! Four of my favorite shows in one place! Please report back as to how it went :)
Please, anyone, report ASAP! Im dying to know how it went. Any detail will be appreciated.
I just came from there...damn it's hot! I think I lost 10lbs, but I digress! The big number on "The Wedding Singer" was pretty good. I liked it! Props to all those who were dancing in this bizillion degree weather! Tina Madigan was there and so was Stephen Lynch. I hope someone can name the other 3 songs, because I'm not that entirely familiar with the show (I know, blasphemy to some of you).
Then came "Hairspray". Yes, Haylie Duff was there and they sang "I'm a Big Girl Now". She was actually, pleasant to listen to. Who would've thought. Darlene Love was AMAZING!!!! My goodness, can that woman sing! Woo-hoo! Again, she brought the park down (at least the section I was cheered quite loudly). The woman behind me made a stupid comment. She said "the black people always after the white people". Needless to say I turned around and gave her "the look". Ugh! Idiots!!
Tarzan didn't impress me that much...Josh Strickland is quite cute!! I did like the duo between him & Jen Gambatese (great voice that girl). I believe it was called "For the First Time".
At last, RENT!!! Of course understudies for both Collins & Angel, but Collins had a nice voice, not so impressed with Angel's. Also, please forgive me but wasn't too impressed with Antonique Smith as Mimi. Maybe it was the context of it all (on stage vs. in the park) but I didn't love her. "Maureen" & "Joanne" Nicole Lewis were pretty good w/ TMOLM. Nicole is CUUUUUTTTEEE! "Maureen" (I forget her name, dayum) sounded Idina-like which impressed me. Nicole doesn't have as powerful a voice as Fredi (or even Tracie) but she was good nonetheless...and did I mention she was cute?? :)
Last but not least was "Seasons of Love". No "Mark" or "Roger" in attendance but the rest of the group did a good job. Yes, Frenchie did her solo but it seemed to drown the rest of the voices. Again it could've been the outdoors or even sound problems (a few mics went down -- luckily not during any of the performances).
I do apologize for not knowing the names of the songs that were sung...don't kill me for it :)

The cast of Wedding Singer performed It's Your Wedding Day, then Tina and Stephen sang Grow Old With You, and Amy Spanger sang Caught By Surprise (and sounded fabulous). Kudos to the cast for dancing in that heat!
In addition to Mama I'm a Big Girl Now and I Know Where I've Been, Hairspray also performed Run and Tell That. (I left after Hairspray.)
This is a silly question since I don't particularly care for her, but was Hilary there since Haylie performed?
"and Amy Spanger sang Caught By Surprise (and sounded fabulous)"
Haha, that's so cute. The song is called "Right in Front of Your Eyes" =)
Besides "For the First Time," what did Tarzan do?
"This is a silly question since I don't particularly care for her, but was Hilary there since Haylie performed?"
Very silly indeed. Hilary was at the theatre when Haylie made her Bway debut. I doubt she has time to follow her sister everywhere she goes. If Hilary was in the audience, it'd be just a coinsidence. But she is a busy girl.
Dancing, why didn't you go?!
I had class until 12:55.

Wasn't it called Caught By Surprise at one point, and then they changed it? Or vice versa? At any rate, Caught by Surprise is easier to type!
That is correct.

WickedRentEder, Haven Burton is the Maureen understudy who performed today.
Haylie Duff went flat on the high note in Mama, I'm A Big Girl Now....the audience didn't realize it, but the girls singing along behind me did.
The Wedding Singer cast did the best job, in my opinion. They're having so much fun!
BTW, did anyone else notice the creepy older gentleman who was collecting autographs? He kept asking random people if ::points to random person:: was Hillary Duff....and then kept saying "I'm an old man! Please give me an autograph!"

During The Wedding Singer's performance, I was standing next to Haylie Duff and Shannon Durig and there was this little girl 5 feet from Haylie screaming into a phone saying, "OMG! I JUST MET HAYLIE DUFF!! I AM GOING SPASTIC!" It was so funny because Haylie heard it because the girl was so loud and Haylie chuckled a bit.
That's so funny!
Haylie must have been embarrassed.
The old guy is there every year. He's definitely on the creepy side.

They chose good songs, for once, this year. I was very pleased. It's always the same crappy slow songs.
