Thank you Yankee fan!!! Great name BTW :)
It shocked me to see a 'blonde' Maureen! I thought she sounded really good and looked good with Nicole Lewis!
And thanks to all who posted the names of the songs...For the life of me, I couldn't remember them!

I haven't been as fortunate...haven't seen Rent a million times, only a few.
And no, no pics from me. I don't have a camera but I'm willing to bet someone here does.

Someone needs to tell Ms. psycho frump stalker with the huge glasses and jean jacket that she A. Needs an extreme makeover B. Needs to stop worrying about broadway performers to sign her precious book of post-its and start going to the shows.
She's been at every Bryant Park performance for the past couple years. She always wear the same ratty jean jacket in 90 degree weather and she is famous for skulking around the stage, harassing performers at the most inappropriate moments by yanking them by the arm, and asking them, "Who are you and what role do you play?"
We all should be asking her, "Who are you, who dressed you, and what planet do you come from?"

Money has nothing to do with it. You don't need money to learn to have tact and be respectful.
How about NOT grabbing a performer by the arm when he or she is talking business with colleagues and instead waiting for the appropriate time?
How about knowing who you are talking to or at least PRETENDING to know who they are so as not to make them feel like complete tools who are signing things for naive ignoramuses who are only going to sell their autographs on eBay?
Moreover, I don't care if she got her jean jacket in the GAP or a local dumpster. Who the frig wears a jean jacket and black pants in 90 degree weather every Thursday? A wack job.
re: Broadway in Bryant Park#37
Posted: 7/27/06 at 6:39pmI understand, why didn't you talk to some security officer or something if she was grabbing the performers? Why didn't anyone do anything? That's just rude.

I was impressed with the selections all of the shows made. I think the Wedding Singer and Tarzan had the most energy. I tooks like 30+ photos, and a video of "Grow Old With You" from the Wedding Singer...I think I'll post some later when I get time to put them on my computer.
Overall it was a great day =]

Todays Bryant Park performance was one of the best lineups and featured shows.
It was great to see the RENT lineup of Haven Burton, Antonique Smith,Nicole Lewis and more.Tarzan and Wedding Singer offered their lead performers and Hairspray was a joy.The performers, dancers and musicians were all working hard in the sweltering heat and humidity.Kudos to 106.7 lite-fm for making this happen.
I managed to get some great shots and a complete dvd recording of the past two weeks shows
Rubber Ducky Scene.. I know exactly what you're referring to.. that denim clad wacko is on my dvd from last week. She managed to invite her skanky self up on the stage to shimmy and shake ( i use the term lightly) with Angela Robinson from "The Color Purple"! Who in the heck wears denim and black pants in this heat? She wore that same stinking ensemble last year while screeching maniacally for Taye Diggs at the RENT performance. She skulked and stalked every single dancer, ensemble member and terrorized poor Taye. No wonder some of these performers need security. It makes the rest of us look bad.
The past two weeks she has stood by the sidelines seeking autographs without a clue as to who anyone is.. it is merely anoying.I have personaly seen a few performers just shake their head in bewilderment and roll their eyes. I can only imagine how frightening it is for them to have a very aggressive person demand your autograph on a sticky pad when she clearly has no idea who you are.
Oh, and I also had the pleasure of witnessing the older crazy man (who I'll officially dub Special Ed from Crank Yankers) screaming for everyone to sign for him because it was to hot for him! "Can you sign? Can you sign?"Does he think we were all in air conditioning or don't feel the heat? Only in New york folks!

My Niece loved the show. She was dancing. She especially loved the songs from Tarzan.
The Daily News took her picture.
It was so great that her Nanny could bring her to Bryant Park.
She was dressed as a Ballerina. She is so cute.

Oh, thanks! She is and such a good girl.
She kept trying to feed me carrots.
Her favorite word is PINK.
Addy, would die.

Posted: 7/27/06 at 9:31pmI saw the old man try to get Haylie Duff's autograph when she was walking away and Haylie gave him a death stare and walked away. But she was very sweet to all the little kids there and basically anyone else who approached her.

Anyone know if Cara Cooper was part of the "company" of Wedding Singer today?
TWS played a Broadway show league game at 1:30 and Cara is a die-hard member. Crazy day I guess...?
I wish I could've been there - this was the best line-up of shows, imo - but alas, the money to get there did not appear out of thin air as I wished. =( =P

Posted: 7/27/06 at 9:55pmIt appeared as though the entire company, save for Laura (who I'm assuming was sick) and Kevin (who was either sick or playing softball.) I'm sure there were others missing, though.

haha... sick or playing softball. I find that hilarious for whatever reason.
I'm guessing Cahoon and not Kern, too. =P

now we're just threadjacking, Yankeefan.
Yeah. Kevin Kern, who I first saw as "Marius" in the closing cast of Les Mis, who is married to an ex-Pajama-Game-er... another Maryland native, Ms. Megan Lawrence!
