Yeah exactly, it’s so nice going to Signature or the Laura Pells, Public, real community feel.
There are many broadway theaters that have big lounge areas in the basement like the Music Box or Neil Simon. The Todd Haimes as the 5th floor, can’t wait to see what they do to it after the renovation. Got my Hiptix for Fallen Angels, April 18, last preview before opening

Oh really kad, like a goddamn adult? Well then maybe they shouldn’t be telling us to show up 45 minutes before curtain, what do you say about that??

So now it's they told you to arrive early? I thought you started this thread to bemoan the fact you couldn't get in when you arrived early and it was cold...

In many theatres the outside doors are opened before the house. This is typically with theatres that have larger lobbies or bar areas where patrons can linger and enjoy a drink, or at least come in from the outside. When I saw Ragtime I arrived about an hour early and had a drink at the bar before the house opened. The Beaumont is fortunate to have a huge lobby. Unfortunately most Broadway houses don't have a large enough lobby area to allow this.

can you guys act like adults and stop arguing over literal 15 minutes? It’s February, it’s gonna be cold. There’s stores on every street, there’s restaurants you could pretend to take a piss and waste your 15 minutes there.
It takes two minutes to look at the weather, plan accordingly, and leave when you think is the proper time so you get there when the doors open.
Read a book, do your dishes, listen to primus, get a hobby, do anything that’ll save you the 15 minutes from the oh so cold outside.

"I usually show up right before curtain, but got into the city earlier than usually and didn’t feel like loitering taco bell" [sic]
Per your own words, sounds like this is all on you and your deranged sense of entitlement, Creampuff.

I arrived at 6:20 for a 7pm curtain. I had to stand in the frigid temperatures for 10 minutes while the ushers are probably hanging out inside. A couple weeks ago at Chicago, two ushers were chatting away, couldn’t be bothered with doing their jobs, I grabbed a playbill from a stack on the floor and found my own seat. Open the doors earlier or stop lying to us.

Sadly, I think polluting this board IS their hobby.

I do enjoy shows with big lobbies with extra photo ops, props, signage, special drinks, extra food options, etc. Harry Potter has done this well. Lion King has some of it. I think many shows .. especially more headliners like Wicked or Hamilton ... could extract more money from our pockets by getting us into the pre-show area earlier for such extra attractions.
