If she's having "vocal problems" then she should be resting her voice for the show, not doing free outdoor concerts. Her main responsibility should be the performance with the paying customers.
Mind you, I think Julie Reiber is much better anyway, and the audience is better off with her. But that's neither here nor there.
I NOW UPLOADED KERRY ELLIS'S PERFORMANCE OF THE WIZARD AND I.

Adam - I think Kerry Ellis did Wicked today...it was Kerry Butler who was out of the matinee.
Here's my album of my pics from today. I know they're not all tagged yet...I'll get to it. Facebook was being a pain with the bulk uploader and I'm tired of messing with pictures right now.
My Broadway on Broadway pics
Do they still give out programs to this? If so, could someone who has one tell me who were the drummers/percussionists in the orchestra? I just wondered if I knew anyone. Thanks.

Nope...our very own Defygravity777 was there this afternoon and sent me a text message telling me Julie Reiber was on. Julie also had the following facebook status this afternoon: "Julie is Elphaba at 3 PM today. Come on down."

So I think we can agree that Heidi Blickenstaff singing A Way Back To Then is amazing! But add that full orchestra and it's just even more amazing! I didn't go to the concert but I found a video of it on youtube and I seriously got chills listening to it. I wish they'd make a recording with the full orchestra

Thanks, jordangirl :) You take the BEST pictures! Thanks for sharing, once again, and SO quickly at that.
The song from Tale of Two Cities was "I can't recall", which has become one of my favorites (for more reasons than just because is a beautiful song). Have you seen the show?
I agree, great pics jordangirl, I loved the one of Hunter, Susan and Jeffie watching Heidi sing, I was looking at them too.
And I agree that it is a longshot, but a recording of (tos) with an orchestra would be heavenly.
I so want them to get a score TONY nom this season, so far the competition is Elton John, Jeannie Tesauri, Jason Robert Brown and Dolly Parton!
Well I can dream and it is way too early to call.

Adam - thank you for the correction. I saw the comment about Patti Murin being on for Kerry Butler, but had not heard about Kerry Ellis missing the matinee also. It is pretty crazy that they do this, but not the actual show.

I echo all the praises for jordangirl's photos. Those are great. And terrific job, on the close up Billy Elliot photo, with getting all three boys in the frame!
Aw, thanks guys. :)
And thanks bwaybabe2. I have seen the show but I just blanked on the name of the song. I plan to go back once it's frozen to see it again.

What time did Kerry sing on Broadway on Broadway? Was it at 1pm when she was scheduled? Julie told me at pre-show SD that she got the call at 12:30 that she was going on. I don't think Kerry is sick anymore but that she didn't have enough time to do this and the show. But that's just my opinion.
Everyone performing yesterday afternoon had a matinee. Some of them even had 2 PM shows. Not an excuse. I believe the show was over by 1:30, anyway.

The drummer was Ray Marchica, and the percussionist was Pablo Rieppi.
I lost my program, but I remember those names mostly. I remember the bass, harp, reeds 1-4, the trumpet section, and the rhythm section, but not the strings or reed 5. Can anyone help me with those.

I have to back up those saying how great Heidi was from [tos]. I really hope she gets some larger roles after her current run- her voice sounded soo beautiful and clear.
Also- From Billy Elliot they sang a song with what appeared to be practically the full cast. I really wanted to see the Billys dance, but hey, for the price I aint complainin'.
I was very surprised they didn't choose to do a number that featured the boys for Billy Elliot. Still, like you said, for the price...

The Billy Elliot cast doing "Once We Were Kings" was so moving. (Have watched a YouTube video of the full performance of the song a number of times now.)
I liked the way, after the three boys playing Billy introduced the song, it started out with just the men in front, singing; then the women joined in as they stepped foward, and finally the children joined in as they came forward themselves. Very cool I thought.
Oh yeah, it's a very moving song, I'm not denying that. I just figured they would do one of Billy's songs. (And someone needed to move one of the little girls in front who was blocking one of the Billys who had no ther place to go but behind her. Just MHO though.) Doing a group number that had the boys only as chorus is sort of like if Wicked did..."No One Mourns the Wicked" or something. It doesn't really show off the central feature of the cast.
Any good swag?
Beach balls from The Little Mermaid and bracelets from 13. That's about it other then the standard issue fans. At least as far as I saw.
