re: Broadway song/Showtune that Best Describes you

Fate may often treat me meanly
But I keenly pursue
A little mirage in the blue,
Determination helps me through.

Though I never really grumble,
Life's a jumble indeed
And in my efforts to succeed
I've had to formulate a creed.

I believe in doing what I can
In crying when I must
In laughing when I choose
Hey ho, if love were all
I should be lonely.

- If Love Were All ~ Noel Coward's BITTERSWEET
John Gielgud remarked to Coral Browne, "you know, Coral, Judi Dench is going to play Lady Macbeth." "Oh, then I suppose we shall have the postcard scene!"

"My friend the dictionary, is a very reliable friend." and also the diva's lament. my favorite Spamalot song.
"I'm thinking about how if you took the W in answer, and the H in ghost, and the extra A in aardvark, and the T in listen, you could keep saying WHAT but no one would ever hear you because the whole word would be silent." "Much More" Luisa's song in the Fantasticks, about breaking out and being free and a little "wild" for "just once."
Arghh! Grammar pet peeve #1: your vs you're. "Your" is a possessive pronoun. "You're" is the contraction of "you are." <<

Nice, Lizzy. I just laughedout loud.
"We don't value the lily less for not being made of flint and built to last. Life's bounty is in it's flow, later is too late. Where is the song when it's been sung, the dance when it's been danced? It's only we humans who want to own the future too." - Tom Stoppard, Shipwreck

re: Broadway song/Showtune that Best Describes you

I had a dream my life would be
So different from this hell I'm living
So different now from what it seemed
Now life has killed the dream I dreamed

***

Call in three-months' time and I'll be fine I know
Well maybe not that fine but I'll survive anyhow
I won't recall the names and places of this sad occasion
But that's no consolation here and now

***

Memory
All alone in the moonlight
I can dream of the old days
Life was beautiful then
I remember a time I knew what happiness was
Let the memory live again

Okay, that's enough for now...
Salve, Regina, Mater misericordiae
Vita, dulcedo, et spes nostra
Salve, Salve Regina
Ad te clamamus exsules filii Eva
Ad te suspiramus, gementes et flentes
O clemens O pia

There are days when "Mr. Cellophane" is my song but...

Here I go
And there's no turning back
My great adventure has begun
I may be small
But I've got giant plans
To shine as greatly as the sun

"I will blaze until I find my time and place
I will be fearless,
Surrendering modesty and grace
I will not disapear without a trace
I'll shout and start a riot
Be anything but quiet
Christopher Columbus
I'll be Astonishing
Astonishing
Astonishing
At Last!"
--Astonishing, Little Women

It's too darn hot.

Literally, it is burning up, although I think my heat problems belong on the Banal thread...
If Percy Blakeney were in Les Mis....

Percy: Sink me! If it isn't Javvurt!
Javert: Zsah-vair, it's pronounced Zsah-vair.
Pecry: But it's spelled J-A-V-E-R-T Javvurt.
Javert: Repeat after me Zsah...Zsah....
Percy: Oh! Zsa-Zsa! Like the Gabor sister! Well I personally have always prefered Eva.
Javert: (Looks for gun)

I would say This is the Moment from Jekyll and Hyde, a little cliche I know, but rings true in my life.
It was 6 hours, I don't even like to have sex and eat bacon for 6 hours.
