BroadwayBox.com redesign

Posted: 12/16/13 at 9:09amAnyone else like the old, scrappy, crowded kind-of-ugly BroadwayBox.com site better than its slick new look? I'm not sure how long ago they upgraded, as it's been several months since I looked for tickets. But I'm not loving the "upgrade."

Posted: 12/16/13 at 9:28amAbsolutely. The old site was very well-designed - you could see all the shows on one page and if you clicked on one, you could still see all of them and click to a new one without backing up. Now you have to make a zillion clicks just to get to one show and repeat for another, which is probably cynically what they were going for if their advertising rates depend on number of clicks instead of the much better indicator of clicks times average time spent per page. Clicking through 5 times to get to one item is just piss-poor design.

Posted: 12/16/13 at 11:47amI hate it. I want to see what there are discounts for easily, not have to dig. Broadwaybox was my first selection for disvounts-will probably defauly to Playbill Club or Theatremania in the future

BroadwayBox.com used to be my # 1 site to start shopping for tickets. The new design is awful. I have removed it from my favorites. Earlier today I used Playbill.com which posts all shows with discounts in bullet point fashion, making it very user friendly.
I really miss the interactive seating charts that they had too.
There is nothing that distinguishes the new site from so many other sites geared for tourists. Do they really think people will click through 12 pages when they can see all discounts on one at Playbill or Theatermania?
I want my pink Broadway.box.com back!!!

Posted: 12/17/13 at 12:07am@PattiLuPoneFanatic: I think you should go back and edit your message (first post after the OP) since, as addicted pointed out, you did not post the correct URL. Some folks aren't going to bother reading through the whole thread and will click on that link you posted and assume the worst. Seems a bit unfair to the folks at BroadwayBox. Personally, I think the REAL redesign is nice and clean and easy to navigate. And best of all, it's responsively designed which is something BWW needs to do in 2014.

I believe there's a new site design because BroadwayBox was bought by Broadway.com (yes, the Goliath of overpriced Broadway tickets buying a website for one of the best places to get online discounts for tickets. Go figure!)
If you compare the new BroadwayBox website with that of Broadway.com, you will see they are almost identical.

Posted: 12/17/13 at 8:16pmI'll add to the chorus of dislikes. It's pretty awful and I've removed it from my favorites list. How come every time some company tries to "fix" something, they make it worse? Telecharge, I'm looking at you.
