Broadways new blood...

Broadway needs to :

1) keep The Lion King! dont move it!!!
2) open Mary Poppins and Billy Elliott(but not instead of The Lion King)- open Mary Poppins at the Marquis theatre and Billy Eliott mayby at Lunt-Fontanne theatre
3) get rid of Sweeny Todd and Avenue Q
4) open We Will Rock You
5) Keep Chicago at its theatre and The Producers, and Phantom
6) reopen Chitty!
7) Evita (which i guess will be coming soon)- in place of Sweeney Todd
Broadways new blood... open more well known musicals (ie, King & I, Joseph, Cats) get rid of things like Spelling Bee etc...

re: Broadways new blood...

Drowsy Chaperone is going into the Marquis, BatB isn't closing just yet, Chitty closed for a reason, and Sweeney Todd isn't closing yet either.

Get rid of Sweeney? What's wrong with you?

re: Broadways new blood...

How would opening well-known musicals be "new blood"?

And, just for grins, how old are you?

re: Broadways new blood...

Hate is a strong word, but you make me feel a little sad and pukey.

They're just moving it, not closing it.

Anyway, next time I see him, I'll give Broadway your suggestions. He'll probably agree with them. May I suggest Starlight Express? I love dancing, singing, roller skating trains.

Well, if it wasn't for the content, then the presentation...

re: Broadways new blood...

1) I agree... the KING notice the words K.I.N.G. should'nt leave its theatre--- but I guess for reasons beyond anyone's control- "The Prideland" will be moving... re: Broadways new blood... :::bummer:::
2) Can't wait for Billy Elliot and also very interested in this Poppin Mary thing they want to do
3) Keep Sweeney (gotta love Patti) and Q (ur a NUT, they give me a reason to WANT to put on Sesame Street again and learn my ABCs)
4) ROCK YOU is a Vegas show. It would be nice, but dunno... kinda open-ended.
5) YES to Chicago, Producers, and Phatom
6) I must have been sick to not see Chitty close- don't worry... mother Mary is coming in. We can't have TOO TWO TOO many Brits belting Bs on Broadway but Billy will be the Best.
7)EVITA Yum (wish Idina was doing it... Madonna is a hush factor)
re: Broadways new blood... SPELLING BEE will be a classic! As Q will... fall in line to the COMEDIES (ya know the fraternal shows like) Songs For A New World, Last Five Years, even tick tick BOOM
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~FINALLY~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
9) Sir Elton and Mr. Taupin really should've streched their 'bat mobile' phone and contacted CONSTANTINE MORIUELS <--sp from last season's American Idol. He would be a SHOE IN, name drawer, already have the long dark locks, mysterious look, sultry rock-pop voice... and let's face it. He's been on a HUSH HUSH tip since he's done ROGER in RENT (NetWorks National Tour) BEFORE AI ladies and gents. COME ON!!! He's perrrrrrfect for the bite.
re: Broadways new blood...
1) keep The Lion King! dont move it!!!
Why? It might as well go into the Minskoff, and play in that awful barn forever.
2) open Mary Poppins and Billy Elliott(but not instead of The Lion King)- open Mary Poppins at the Marquis theatre and Billy Eliott mayby at Lunt-Fontanne theatre
Drowsy has the Marquis, and I doubt BIlly Elliot will even happen.
3) get rid of Sweeney Todd and Avenue Q
So artistry and unique staging isn't important to you?
4) open We Will Rock You
Get rid of Sweeney but bring in We WIll Rock You? YOu really should live in Vegas.
5) Keep Chicago at its theatre and The Producers, and Phantom
Producers has run its course. Chicago and Phanton should stay, I agree. And they will, don't worry.
6) reopen Chitty!
So it can loose even more money?
7) Evita (which i guess will be coming soon)- in place of Sweeney Todd
I think Broadway is big enough for both Evita and Sweeney.
Open more overdone musicals that have been done to death, instead of original, new work? Go to a community theatre if you want to see that crap.
re: Broadways new blood...
It's funny you named this Broadways NEW blood b/c most of your idea included getting rid of some of the freshest innovative shows currently running and replacing them with old, overdone shows.
Am I cut out to spend my time this way?
Close Sweeney? No.
re: Broadways new blood...
All I have to say is why? What, in your opinion, does reviving shows like CATS, Joseph, and The King and I do for the art form?
re: Broadways new blood...
Close Sweeney Todd?
Keep the Producers? Look at the past few weeks attendance numbers.
Open We Will Rock You?
Re-open Chitty?
This post is a joke right?
Why on earth do you think Broadway should get rid of Avenue Q and Spelling Bee?!?!?!?
re: Broadways new blood...
25APCSB is one of the most clever shows on Broadway and is hilarious. As is Avenue Q. I don't agree with almost any of your statements. Close Sweeney???
re: Broadways new blood...
Random input...but I saw Constantine in RENT (didn't know it was him then) and he was okay. I don't remember much about him, so I guess that makes him a little forgettable. Not knowing a thing about RENT walking into the place, I really don't remember much about it at all.
