I just wanted to say that I've just come back from the FINAL....

The FINAL people...

performance of the BROOKLYN TOUR. All I have to say is HOW UNBELIEVABLE. What the audiences and the critics didn't like in this show was beyond me. I know it's not brain surgery but god I had such a good time. Everyone was AMAZING, but DIANA DEGARMO literally stole the show for me. I really truly underestimated her, and for being 19 I was like HOLY HOLY CRAP. I mean seriously there was a standing ovation AFTER STREETSINGER was over. It.....was......amazing. I wanted to throw my shoe at her and Melba everytime they sang.

So yeah if you didn't get the drift, it was an amazing show and I'm excited to see Diana get back into Hairspray on the 8th. Maybe she'll outshine that DUFF girl that's in it right now, cuz remember they'll BOTH be in it at the same time.

Diana gave a wonderful closing show speech and thanked everyone and everything for such an amazing ride, and she was crying on top of that all. Outside she was so cute thanking everyone and we chatted for a little while about Hairspray, the Brooklyn rehearsal process and just everything.

P.S. I loved her I think a little more than I did Eden...but that's just me. :)

For me, "Booklyn - The Musical" was and still is a fantastic experience. I also feel that the show was a fantastic experience for the tour cast. As Cleavant expressed, “We are a family of sorts too, maybe not the mom and apple pie kind.” In reality, the cast became “The City Weeds” and a very special bond was formed causing their performances to be extremely captivating.

Melba, Julie, Cleavant and Lee you are all very special and very talented performers. I will be looking forward to seeing you all again in the future.

Diana, you are defiantly blessed with a major talent! You can make people laugh (Little Brooklyn), you can make people cry (“I Never Knew His Name”), and you can make people cheer, applaud and also give them chills (“Once Upon a Time” and “Streetsinger”). Your voice is magical. I’m looking forward to seeing you again in “Hairspray” and any other project in your bright and wondrous future may hold. I’m also looking forward to your next CD. “Will Success Spoil Diana DeGarmo”? “I don’t think so”.

Did Marc Schoenfeld travel with the tour?

I don't know that I would pay full price, the show was so-so, but the performances were AMAZING!

Diana blew me away- It was worth the hour in the car to San Jose on Saturday!

I feel bad for the cast the audience was so small, but they did a great job.

BKLYN was an amazing experience for me - the highlight of my summer. The voices were incredible all the way around. Melba made me laugh and pulled my heartstrings as Paradice. Cleavant was indescribable as Streetsinger. Diana was the heart of the show, and having never before heard this young lady live, found my jaw on the floor several times throughout the show, particularly during Streetsinger. There is nothing like hearing those two talented and loud singers share the stage! Diana definitely had shining moments onstage, and I know she'll only continue to improve. Meeting her only confirmed what I'd heard over and over about this exceptional young person - she was friendly and funny despite learning later that she'd been under the weather. What a special show this is. I can't believe this tour's over.

Parks, I'm with you. I've stopped listening to the Brooklyn OBC CD. No recording comes close to the live tour performances but I wish there was a tour cast CD. At least it would have soothed the Brooklyn withdrawls.

Jarret, I'm also glad that you went to the show.

I was at the show on Sunday night, and it was incredible. Going into it, I didn't think Diana was going to be anything special. Wow, was I wrong. She was spectacular. She got a standing O after Streetsinger. She stole the show. The entire cast was just amazing, and so nice. I'm glad that I got to go to the final show. It was a lot of fun.

Seriously, Diana either needs to put OUAT on her next CD or there has to be a tour cast recording. I mean, I've heard great things about this. If I wasn't halfway around the world I would've seen it. I really would've. I just hope I am fortunate enough to hear Diana sing some the songs from this show, either live or on a CD. Anyway, congratulations on a great run Diana, enjoy your vacation, you deserve it Di!!!!!

I also attended the San Jose show. The touring cast was wonderful. I didn't think I would like the show but, I truly LOVED it! Diana DeGarmo just blew me away. Her voice was AMAZING and I thought her acting was good too! Her duet with Cleavant just brought the house down. She has a great set of pipes and I wish her much success. I can't wait to see her in HAIRSPRAY!

Anyways, some of the cast was excellent - Diana / Julia. Amazing singers.
