Bruce Sets Ticket Record

Did we know this: Also, Netflix paid over $20 million for the rights to stream a recording of the Broadway show. It will be available through the subscription-based service after Springsteen wraps up his lucrative run on December 15.

I don't remember hearing this before.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Actually this ticks me off more than anything the amount of money people make reselling tickets.

Wow! I know center orch seats face value price is $850 so by having the avg ticket price in the secondary market be around $2000, that's a pretty good pay day for scalpers.

I recall this show sold tickets via verified fan by ticketmaster.

As for Hamilton w/the original cast, I recall resale tickets being 'crazy' starting May/June during award season and ending in July when the orig cast left. Didn't tickets in rear mezz (orig face value price of $69-$79?) resold over $1000 especially during that month after the Tony's but before the last day of the three main orig cast members).

It's depressing how the industry has given up on scalpers and here we have an article praising how much untalented bottom feeders are profiting off the work of talented artists.

Cue the torrent of capitalism lectures, I know. There may have always been scalpers but it seems we've folded them into legitimacy and it's depressing.

Re. dramamama611, I think that it was reported in the WSJ.

Re. Wick3, I imagine that, if you look at Hamilton before the original cast departed, then it would probably be more than Bruce.

Re. BJR, I actually think that Bruce hates scalpers. Didn't he work with TM on Verified Fan?
