I hope this is true: Bug is one of my favorite plays that I've never seen performed live...would love this to happen! Dorian Gray is going to do gangbuster business, I suspect.

I've never seen Bug on stage, but the William Friedkin movie is what made me fall in love with Michael Shannon as an actor.
And Nicolas Cage in a major revival? Intriguing... is there any speculation about what? I've thought he could make a good Elwood P. Dowd, but he may be getting a little old for that part...
I generally like Tracy Letts’ plays, but I just don’t get the appeal of Bug. I have not seen it live though, maybe it’s best experienced that way. Regardless, this doesn’t appear to be the Steppenwolf production since David Cromer is directing. They would definitely need a big movie star for it to sell on Broadway. I agree that Nicholas Cage would have been great thirty years ago, but the character is supposed to be in his twenties or early thirties.
Dead Outlaw would be a Kimberly Akimbo/Band’sVisit type of show: critical acclaim but little interest from tourists. Probably cheap to run though.

David Cromer did direct Bug at Steppenwolf

Namir was fantastic, I saw the recent Steppenwolf runs and he was really great. I think Carrie is filming through at least early fall for Gilded Age Season 3, so it would have to be after that if they're gonna have her in the revival.

You’re right, I stand corrected. I thought Randall Arney directed it, but I was thinking of Namir Smallwood in True West.
