Posted: 4/10/14 at 2:33pmAside from whatever you're insinuating, it doesn't seem hard to get bad, rear mezz seats for most opening nights. The question is... how badly do you want to see the show from a great distance while staring at the top of celebrity's heads in the orchestra below? As opposed to going any other night, and getting much better seats to see the actual show...

Posted: 4/10/14 at 2:35pmProducers never let opening night be on TKTS. They usually give the tickets away because it makes the show look like it's not selling.

Posted: 4/10/14 at 2:47pmI thought it was kind of odd to see it on TKTS for opening night as well. At 50% off!

I could name at least a half-dozen Broadway shows this season that have been up on TKTS for opening night.

Opening night audiences are those connected with the show and their friends and relatives. If there are any seats available after that, I can see where they'd practically give them away. I'm sure they're not good seats.

From what I can recall, the following shows were available on TKTS on opening night:
Soul Doctor
Bridges of Madison County
Big Fish
Gentleman's Guide...

Posted: 4/10/14 at 8:11pmI'm not sue why anyone would want to pay even a discounted price to attend an opening night, knowing that almost every person in the theatre has been comped and they are all going to be attending a fabulous post-show party to which you are not invited. Sounds more depressing than fun to me, unless you are a starf*cker who just wants to pee next to a celebrity.
