While I am sad to see people out of work, I'm not too hung up on this show closing. I feel like Broadway has just run out of material so it's just pulling films from practically anywhere and packing shows with as many stars as possible to try and help sales. Maybe I'm old-school, but I wish that trend would stop. To echo others, best to all involved.
>> On another topic, do you guys really think there will be a tour?
From what I've read recently, shows that dont do well financially like this manage to hit their break-even point by going to Europe or Japan.
Wow...I totally expected this to hang on for longer. Even though I loved PRISCILLA, I banked on that going first, with Sister Act following, while this would hold on until New Year's.
Maybe I'll break my lifelong policy of seeing shows twice and catch this again.

I didn't absolutely adore the show, but I enjoyed it very much. I'm always sad when a show shutters so abruptly, especially one like this that seemed poised to be at least a moderate success at one time.
And, yes, there is going to be a tour for sure.
Yeah, def. thought this would hang on longer. It wasn't doing awful business.

this is so sad... but also super coincidence, my community production of "Hairspray" closes after a month long run on September 4th as well.
