What did they use in the original production? When It came through my town my mom was so confused when the saucer came up. She now thinks the cats were waiting for a UFO to take one cat to their home plant.

It doesn't look that bad when you see it. Even in the front row you're never as close up as those pictures are and the set is almost always lit much darker than it is in those photographs. That's not an accurate representation, especially for the people sitting further back. I'd say it's almost impossible to tell unless you know already and you're looking for it.

Yeah, I saw the 25th anniversary tour or whatever from Troika 3 or so years back which I assume also had this inflated scenery--and from where I sat I honestly had no idea. Not that I was looking for it.

Never mind I saw them. That is just pitiful. I guess it doesn't look TOO bad when it's all put together and lit up on stage, but when sectioned off in a warehouse it looks like one of those inflatable jumping things you get for Purim or Easter.
