Why?? Is she anti-Sondheim?
That thing on the Castcom video was really weird. It seemed fishy to me, but more like someone was trying to protect Raul's reputation than anything else. He's gone on record saying he's over it, which of course could be spin, but she clearly isn't. She's had almost every other show represented on The View in one way or another, and it's a bummer, because they could have benefited from that kind of exposure.
Emcee...could you elaborate on the Castcom video? I have not seen it or send a link? What is he over??
Oh, yeah. The Pirate Queen has that Castcom thing on its website, and there was a series of three videos from the day they were on The View. In one of the backstage segments, Rosie asked the cast if the road to Broadway was hell, and said that it couldn't have been worse than it was for Taboo. Then she gave them a word of advice, which was not to throw your wig down and storm out of rehearsal, and something like, "I'm not mentioning any names... RAUL ESPARZA." Anyway, the video disappeared for a while, and when it went back up, that part was taken out. The conversation is still there, but it cuts off before she says Raul's name.
And I remember some interview where he said he was over the argument he and Rosie had during tech.

"I can't really see Rosie promoting any Sondheim show. Regardless of the star."
That's a point I was thinking about--when she had her own show she used to talk about in the 70s seeing Chicago 5 times, Chorus Line 10 etc--but never mentions Sweeney Todd etc--I guess just not a fan?
Thanks Emcee.
THAT SUCKS. BOO!!
Hm... I talked to a few cast members of Company on Sat night and they didn't seem to know what was going on for the Tony's. Maybe final decisions haven't been made and communicated to the cast? I suppose only time will tell.
Oh and on Saturday night, the orchestra looked fairly full (80-90%) and the balcony was about 70% full. It was a great audience.

jochang, I was there Sat night too - were you at the stagedoor afterward?
I thought the audience was great, leaving the crazy party behind me out of it....hehe.
So you asked about Raul's Tony performance and they didnt know?
I specifically asked if they were going to be performing at the Tony's, and the ones I asked said they didn't know. Who knows.
