According to an audition listing, Cagney: The Musical is trying its hand at a commercial run off-Broadway.
Without Lacey? PASS.
Had the pleasure of interning at the York Theatre while it was rehearsing its initial run. It's truly Robert Creighton's baby, and the finished product was truly great...the opening number was one of the most memorable ones I've seen. Bruce Sabath (Larry in the Company Broadway revival) was particularly brilliant as Jack Warner.
I missed this at the York, so I'm happy it's getting another production!
So if the casting notice says they're auditioning for understudies and future replacements, does that mean that Creighton is still in the lead role?

I would imagine the entire cast would transfer barring some other conflicts.

I saw this at the York, and thought it was in fine shape, perhaps with a little work on the book. Creighton and Bruce Sabath were excellent, and the choreography was a lot of fun.
I received a mailer today for this show and was surprised. I hadn't really read anything about this show, but being a great fan of Cagney, I will definitely go see it.

I'll be seeing it in April. I have no real expectations for it, but I'm looking forward to it nonetheless.
