Unexpected casting, but I'll take it! I'm so pleased to see the enthusiasm and support this production is getting from the theater community. Bringing what was such a strong show in LA to Broadway is going to touch so many people.

LOVE Camryn Manheim!!!
Also Russell Harvard, who was terrific in TRIBES.
YES! Is there any way to attend the show and only watch the scenes that Patrick Page is in? As you can tell, SA's not my favorite by any means, but I like Page so much that I might be willing to sit through it for him.
I was already looking forward to this but Patrick Page's casting really upped my excitement. I'll watch that man in anything.
I had been hoping that Manheim would be a part of this!! It's not unexpected at all since she first made a living as a sign language interpreter.

THANK YOU! I've been wracking my brain for weeks trying to remember who the actress was that had a career previously with ASL.
Are Manheim and Matlin sharing the role of the Adult Women? Did they have two actresses perform the role in California?
I remember reading in the other Spring Awakening thread that this production has two Adult women and two Adult men.
^yes, in this production, both adult roles are split between one deaf actor and one hearing actor
If this will be similar to the LA production, Manheim will play Wendla's mother and Marlee Matlin will play Melchior's mother. Patrick Page will play the teacher / Melchior's father, and Russell Harvard will play Moritz's father.
I'm excited for Russell Harvard.. he was an amazing villain as Mr. Wrench in Fargo (the TV show), and I'm sure he'll be great as Moritz's scary father.
I apologize if someone has mentioned it somewhere, but I couldn't find the answer using the search, but does anyone know what is next in the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, seeing as the press release says that there is no availability for an extension?

I just can't wait to hear Patrick Page say "Melchior Gabor, did you write this?"...already fantasizing now.
So very excited about Patrick Page! He was the highlight of Hunchback for me -- I've been craving hearing his voice again!
