Barbara Cook as Glinda is such a great idea. A young, beautiful, clear-voiced Cook would do wonders with the role. How about Barbara Cook as Clara in PIAZZA?
Also love the idea of Merman as Carmen in CURTAINS, Chita Rivera would have made a great Georgia.

Cook as Clara is GENIUS!!!

You're reminding me of people you hear at the movies asking questions every ten seconds, "Who is that? Why is that guy walking down the street? Who's that lady coming up to him? Uh-oh, why did that car go by? Why is it so dark in this theater?" - FindingNamo on strummergirl

"They say that just being relaxed is the most important thing [in acting]. I take that to another level, I think kinda like yawning and...like being partially asleep onstage is also good, but whatever." - Sherie Rene Scott

Anita Morris or Barbara Harris in the Madeline Kahn role in YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN.
Priscilla Lopez as Vanessa in IN THE HEIGHTS.
Gretchen Wyler as Georgia in CURTAINS and Michael Jeter (okay he is not Golden Age but still) as the Lt.
Angela Lansbury as Big Edie/Little Edie in GREY GARDENS with Barbara Cook or a young Bernadette Peters as Act I Little Edie, and Lotte Lenya as Act II Big Edie.
Dorothy Loudon as the housekeeper in YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN.
A young Marilyn Cooper as Paulette in LEGALLY BLONDE or a young Bernadette Peters as Elle Woods.

There are numerous roles I’d like to see Ms. Garland in, but first and foremost I’d like to see/here her as Fosca in Passion.

I hate Passion with a passion...I'd rather see Garland as:
Desirée in Night Music
Psuedolous in Forum
Cora Hoova Hooper in Anyone Can Whistle
Joanne in Company
Phyllis in Follies
The Witch in Into the Woods

I actually want to see a young Judy play Louise. Just to see her do something out of convention.

and then older Judy as Grizabella.

that's a really big mic...
