Catch Me If You Can

Anybody else puzzled by that demo?

re: Catch Me If You Can

The first time I listened I thought it was OK and I liked it.
Now, after a few repeat listens it does nothing and is very uninspiring.
It opens in July at the gorgeous 5th Avenue Theatre.

re: Catch Me If You Can

It's jazzy at times, but not remotely what I expected- very few production numbers jump out.
#4

re: Catch Me If You Can

there are some great numbers there but as you said not very stagey!

The first clip features Aaron Tveit and Tom Wopat, the second is a solo for Aaron.

Many thanks TimesSquareRegular for posting that link.

I'll reserve judgement on the songs but Aaron sings "Goodbye" so well. What a gloriuos voice.

re: Catch Me If You Can

Yes, Aaron is fantastic. But the songs are pretty forgettable.

What were you expecting, HAIRSPRAY? I think the songs sound good and of the period.'Butter Out Of Cream' sounds very much like the old theme to the 1960's Gidget TV series that starred Sally Field.Anyone else hear that?

re: Catch Me If You Can

Absolutely. For the past 2 hours I've been wandering around singing "If you're in doubt about angels being real..."

But in a Tom Wopat voice.

A great series if you like this music.
There must be about 10 fab CDs.

GIDGET was a great series too. WILDCAT, I thought it was just me who remembered that song.

re: Catch Me If You Can

God - I was certainly not expecting Hairspray - I detest that score and it bores the hell out of me. I just found this - although admittedly in a totally different style - equally bland and boring. Aaron's voice is the only thing that kept me interested.

re: Catch Me If You Can

Mama, that is the wrong GIDGET. A few years after the GIDGET series of movies (pictured) there was a TV series which starred Sally Field just prior to her doing THE FLYING NUN. Do you know of it and did it screen in the U.K. ?
