Though Shaiman is incorrect that this is the 5th's first venture into regional theatre. They always do local productions, sometimes with another theatre, but often alone, They're doing their own Seven Brides now with Hello Dolly and Sunday in the Park set for early next year.

Actually, Lane hasn't committed to either one yet

Both would happen around the same time but Lane has not committed formally to Addams or to CMIYC. We'll see which one is ready first and which one he chooses if the timing is in conflict. Butz was discussed as an alternate to Lane but no decision yet.

Dear God...please, NO Matthew Morrison! Let's get someone who can actually act and isn't just a pretty voice.

Hmmmm...Why don't you tell that to the producers of the new Fox TV show, GLEE, that Morrison will be starring in?

Hasn't Aaron Tviet been attached to this? Or has that come and gone already?

I love them both and would pay FULL price to see them in the same show!!

I highly doubt THAT'LL last.

Looks like this summer's Seattle tryout WILL include Norbert Leo Butz, Aaron Tveit and probably Kerry Butler:

"Come June, he heads for Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre, from whence cometh Hairspray, to do Catch Me If You Can with "all the Hairspray guys" (Shaiman, Wittman, Mitchell, Rockwell, Posner) — and Norbert Leo Butz, Wicked's Aaron Tveit "and, I think, Kerry Butler."

Any news on exactly WHEN (more specific than "summer") this will open in Seattle? The 5th Ave Theatre isn't talking, but I did see an audition notice for this past week. Does it actually have an opening slot on Broadway?

Sounds great! I hope Aaron Tveit sticks with it. He's so talented.

I would love to see this and hope Kerry Butler's allergy to diction has been cured. I love her, but damned if I can understand what she's saying half the time.

If it means anything, Tveit's return to Wicked next week is only for a few more months, which would free him up for this.

I hope he continues with it- he's very talented and deserves to originate a role, particularly this one, which I think he's be excellent in.
