So did they change something and the lead is now suppose to be a gay twink? I am sorry. but based on the clip... COME ON! And that choreography does not help him.

I absolutely agree, I am not very impressed with that highlight reel. Also, I thought it was extremely interesting that they have gone back to the out-of-town set for the show.. I really did not care for that set and thought it was very lacking compared to its alternate on Broadway. Oh well.

Haven't seen the clip yet, but I'm going up to Providence on Sunday to see the show. I'll post a mini-review if you all would like one.

It looks like a mix between Seattle and Broadway.
The band thing is from seattle, with the big LED-screen..
En then I see the Airport set and curtains from Broadway!
I liked the Broadway set because of it consistency, everything was in the same style..
Now I don't know what the big tv screen does for it, but I don't like them in a theatre!
Call me old fashion, but I like painted backdrops!
He really needs to butch it up.
Judging purely from the clip, he also reads to me as kinda young for the role. Not really how I picture the character at all...
Isn't Frank supposed to be a teenager, EricMontreal22??
I can't honestly remember, but you're probably right. I always thought for the bulk of the piece he's meant to be a young adult. Leo and Aaron were both in their mid to late 20s when they played the role, though I have no clue how old the lead is here. He just seems a tiny bit too young to me... *shrug*.
I don't think "young" is the problem here.
Well I agree with your point, too. :P Just in general, he doesn't really have the look of someone who's charming, but still a master con artist.

That preview made me LOL. Updated On: 10/9/12 at 07:33 PM
He's a teenager, but a teenager who people buy as a pilot and a doctor.
I only saw the show in Seattle, and I'm glad to see that they went back to the original band platform. I like it so much better than the one they used on Broadway.
I saw it in Seattle as well, and while I really don't have strong memories about it (I found it pretty mediocre), I did like the design more than what I've seen of the Broadway production.
ANyway, thanks for clearing up his age. I still say the "twink" in the video looks impossible to buy as a pilot, or doctor. He looks like the lead in a high school show...
I think you guys are being too hard on him. He doesn't seem to be doing anything that different from Aaron Tveit who could also be considered a twink. I don't get an overly gay vibe from the clip, but I do see what I think the role requires which is a sort of suave sexually ambiguous quality which should and could appeal to both sexes if he needed to do so to get what he needed.
HUH? Judging only and solely from the clip he does seem to give off some effeminate qualities. It might just be the unfortunate clip.

For a non- equity tour the show looks fabulous!
He is a cute kid. Just read his bio. Straight out of school and already the lead in a national tour. That is a amazing accomplishment.
You know who I would have liked to see, if he were a little younger, in this show?
Michael Buble. Aaron Tveit's voice is fantastic, but it is decidedly lighter than air, the quintessential Broadway pop voice. I think the score would sound amazing with a young swing and jazz crooner like Buble- someone who knows their way around pop or rock, but could sell numbers like "Butter Outta Cream" in a way that Tveit's voice just couldn't quite match.
Also, what's wrong with being a gay twink? I don't really understand why that's a bad thing. It's kind of rude to say that.
Why? That is what I see when I look at that clip. I used to be a gay twink myself. Nothing wrong with that. Is the lead character in this story a gay twink? NO!
^I dunno. I read it like you were insulting him for being a twink.

I think he's pretty cute and charming.
Maybe it's the casting. Maybe it is just the clips. And yes he is cute.
