"yeah jp2. lets hope to God the ROA movie doesn't go the way of the Mamma Mia movie. I mean it only grossed 500 million dollars world wide. damn that would suck for the producers of the ROA movie.."
Er, what? Who's talking numbers? I'm talking about actual quality (I know, talking about quality and ROA... the thought!). Mamma Mia! was an awful.. awful film. It tried too hard to be camp, but just ended up being bad.
But I'm not too worried. We have a director that understands the genre (Hairspray was fantastic), Oscar nominated/Winning actors, Oscar nominated screen writers, and a multiple Emmy winning choreographer. I think this film is going to surprise a lot of people.

"we"...are you in the show?
Mamma Mia was in no way an artistic smash, but it was an awful lot of fun for a mindless summer film. ABBA is not Sondheim or Kander and Ebb, so no one was expecting high art. I loved Mamma Mia for pure fun.
I think Catherine will be great in the film. Im tired of nasty people and the Glynis Johns fan club shredding CZJ. She is an incredibly talented woman and will add a lot of spark to the film. So she had an off night at the Tonys. Big whoop-get over it. She has a Tony and a Oscar and a lot of jaded queens don't.
^ Well put.
The nonsensical backlash towards her only happened after the Tony performance. Apparently no one cared about the five months prior to that, when she drew raves from most critics and audiences.
Remember when she sang "I Move On" at the Academy Awards? She was as pregnant as you can get, and sounded exceptional.
Goddess.

I wasn't expecting high art, but I also wasn't expecting bad singing, dancing, and those awful slow-mo shots! :p
