Yesterday was the first time Marin missed a show since she joined the cast in July. She deserves a break. Performing the role of Diana 8x a week is probably tiring.
Marin had been fighting a cold for weeks, and I guess it caught up with her. I'm sure she'll be fine. It's very impressive that she went as long as she did without missing any shows.
was fortunate to catch the show tonight. My first time seeing Next 2 Normal so I have no other cast to compare it to. Yes Catherine was on as Diane and she was wonderful. I really liked the chemistry between her & Dan(Jason Danieley). Was truely blown awat by this show and was glad I was able to catch it before it closed. And on a side note, the show was completely sold-out(I even think they sold the standing room spots). Feel free to ask questions, I'll do my best to answer them.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
saw the show tonight as well. was very upset that i Marin was out (I've previously seen Alice and Jessica) but I thought Catherine was very good, especially for it being her 2nd time on. There were a few flubbed lyrics but nothing major. Out of the three performers I've seen as Diana I think Catherine was the most "real". I loved Alice but her Diana is undeniably over the top, and (though I've heard mostly good things about her, maybe it was an off night) I really disliked Jessica, her acting was awful. Catherine had strong vocals and acted well, and overall I had a good experience.
edit: O and for those wondering how Jason was playing opposite someone who isn't his wife, (though i have nothing to compare it to as I'd never seen him before) i thought he was wonderful and that his Dan a strong connection to Catherine's Diana. I noticed as they walked off stage after curtain call he put his arm around her which I thought was nice.

I don't think you would have noticed considering it was your first time seeing the show, but did you notice Catherine stumble at all with lines or lyrics..I "heard" her last night, and she did. She did sound amazing though. Similar to Jessica Phillips' clear belt.
"Everything is PERFECT here and on an even keel. Everything is perfect..."
That was really the only one I noticed. Either way, her performance was spectacular. Her voice fit this score perfectly and to me, it didn't seem like it was only her second time through the show. I feel she could have developed the character with a little more time, but it was a completely believable and honest performance. There was a bit of prop flub, SPOILER when Dan and Diana are fighting over the music box it fell out of both of their hands and landed softly (thankfully unbroken) away from them and Jason had to reach to pick it up again. He threw it in a hurry and I think it shattered but he threw it so far in the darkness I couldn't see, almost like he was skipping a stone rather than throwing it down. All in all, a great third and final time seeing the show.
The band was amazing, of course. Some of the audience, including myself, were not just applauding and cheering for them after the exit music, we were screaming! They had huge grins on their faces and so did I, seeing such support for the musicians. I hated one time I saw the show and after the ext music the remaining audience gave a mild applause. Some didn't even bother to do that. Last night restored my faith in musician's appreciation on Broadway, haha.
as for someone who never saw the show before, I didn't notice any flubbed lines by Catherine. If she did, the average audience member probably didn't notice it either. Anyone know if Marin is back on tonight or is Catherine going on again??
