Has anyone seen an celebrities at any broadway shows?? I heard they are there all the time, but has anyone ever seen or sat next to any? I heard of them being at, especially, Wicked, but i've seen the show 4 times and always sat in close orchestra, and never saw anyone.

Also, is it true that Kristin was @ Ave. Q yesterday???

I saw John Edwards (the psychic guy) and Jeanine Tesori at Kristin Chenoweth's concert. I was the only person who recognized Jeanine, I told her that I was a fan of her work. She was very sweet.

I ushered and interned at NAT's The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui a couple years ago, and there were always celebs at the show. I seated Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon (he's VERY tall!) and saw Robert DeNiro, Kevin Spacey, Harrison Ford, just about everyone from The Sopranos, Paul McCartney and dozens of others throughout the run. Other than that...hmmm, I saw Lynn Redgrave and Richard Avedon at Long Day's Journey into Night and David Hyde Pierce at Sight Unseen.

But when did New Hampshire become--Such a backward wasteland of seatbelt hating crazies?...I mean, only 40 people actually live there. The others are just visitors who come for the tax-free liquor and three inches of novelty coastline. John Hodgeman on The Daily Show (1-30-07)

At the last performance of Dance of Death, I saw Jeffrey Jones, Tom Skerritt, Yoko Ono (who cut me in line for the sinks in the bathroom), and Jeffrey Lyons (I know he's not technically a celebrity, but whatever). Jane Krakowski and Dan Marcus were at Little Shop, and Mel Brooks and Anne Bancroft were at The Tale of the Allergist's Wife.

I saw Lauren Bacall, Samuel L. Jackson and Famke Jensen (spelling?) at "Long Day's Journey Into Night".
PitrePower and I sat next to Tina Maddigan (Original Sophie in Mamma Mia) at "Wonderful Town". re: Celebrities @ shows
My biggest thrill, though, was seeing Benny Andersson from ABBA at "Mamma Mia". re: Celebrities @ shows

I saw Ann Harada at John Tartaglia's Joe's Pub show. It's obvious why she was there. She was surrounded by a lot of people and waiting for John to come out so I didn't want to bother her but it was cool that she took a night off from the Q to see his show.

I saw Lenny Kravitz at "The Boy from Oz"'s matinee yesterday... and Hugh went to play around with him at intermission... and Kravitz had LEFT DURING INTERMISSION!!!!

And if she'll say, "My darling, I'm yours!" I'll throw away my striped tie and my best pressed tweed, all I really need is the girl...

When I saw BFO in preview a year ago, Nicole Kidman was in the audience. When I saw the show again in June, Gloria Estafan was there. BFO seems to have had quite a few celebrity visitors -- Richard Roxburgh, Will Kemp, Elvis Costello, Barbara Cook (who I think has seen it 15 times including today re: Celebrities @ shows ) and many more.

I saw John Stamos at CABARET. He was with a young kid and my grandma pointed him out, saying how inappropriate it was that a young kid was there...she had no idea it was Stamos. I talked to him for a minute and he told me to enjoy the show...um, duh. Adam was emcee and when he asked in 'Willkommen' "Do you feel good?" John screamed "yeah!" :)

Where on the AVE Q Site does it list celebrities?

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

When I saw Wicked, at intermission, guess who was in line behind me for the men's room? Matt Caplan (yes, matt caplan who played mark in rent.) I know he's not like a big hollywood celebrity, but he's one in my book. I just thought it was soo funny that he was there and not at Rent, because I had gone to Rent the night before! Of course I said hi, and that he's my idol, and he was very nice. He also went back stage with his (i think girlfriend, I dunno though) after the show. good times.

Well it was at an out of town tryout in Philly for the show "Platinum" in 78 or 79 that I got knocked to the floor by Chita Rivera. (Her daughter was in the show) Extremely gracious woman. She actually stopped and helped me up off of the floor and got me another beverage!

Let's see... I've seen several shows and, for some of these "celebrities," I have forgotten at which show I saw them.

- Alec Baldwin
- Bill Beutel (Local (NYC) WABC News Anchor. I remember this because he told me he skipped anchoring the 11:00 news to see the show.)
- Barbara Walters
- Sally Jesse Raphael
- Neil Patrick Harris (at Twentieth Century)
- Craig T. Nelson (at RENT)
- Tom Arnold (at The Producers)
- Connie Chung and Maury Povich (at Hairspray)
- Jerry Stiller and Ann Meara (at The Dinner Party)
- Anderson Cooper (at Hairspray)
