Title. Not sure how serious of a chance this has and others on here would be more informed. Appreciate your response in advance!
Don't know about the chances, but I think that writers & producers definitely want it to happen. There have been multiple tryouts/productions with high-profile performers, with some regular Broadway non-profits co-producing. It might have a longer gestation period than fans want, but from what I understand - with every tryout, they've beefed up the material more and more. From snippets available online, and reviews from my trusted friends who've seen the shown, the material is quite strong.
I don't know where I have been. I didn't even know about this. I loved the play Tamara that played at the Park Avenue Armory in the late 80s.

I hope this comes soon. I do know the show has been successful recently in gathering more investors/producers in the hopes of getting it on its feet in NY. Would love if Carmen came back to reprise her role

I heard they were originally slated to be a part of one of the major non-profit Off-Broadway theater company’s 2019-2020 seasons but pulled out last minute. Not sure if it’s because they have bigger plans or because they are not moving forward.

Has anyone heard anything new about this??
I know it’s the name of the artist but LEMPICKA is a terrible title for a musical

@Hanilfan2, I heard the same thing. and I bet it was going into the Friedman; MTC announced their season with "One additional Broadway production will be announced at a later date."
^ Well, I'm guessing that would be the just-announced How I Learned To Drive revival.
So I am seeing random Twitter posts about this moving to Broadway. Has anyone heard anything?
It announced another tryout and a transfer.

All I can find is the announcement from October 2019. Is there anything new which made this start making rounds today?

On the La Jolla Playhouse website they have finally announced their entire 2020/21 season with dates for Lempicka: May 19 - June 28.
They are probably eyeing a fall Broadway opening.
I will be able to see it early in its run, as I already have a trip to LA & Southern California planned for late May.
They are planning on transferring to Broadway, likely into the Friedman. A reliable source at MTC told me back in May that they were considering it for this season, but then after a reading they decided to do out-of-town tryouts with more development time so that the show could really be fine-tuned. How I Learned to Drive then took its spot in the season. So as long as MTC is still interested, I would plan on it being in their 20/21 season. I would expect spring 2021 for maximum Tony potential.

Interesting for MTC to do a musical! Seems they don’t really focus on that.
Got an emailer today from La Jolla Playhouse: single tickets to Lempicka go on sale Wednesday, April 8.
I hope it does. Espinosa did a number from it at her latest concert and it's absolutely stunning.
