Oh man, Bets Malone is doing this?
I just saw her play Annie in Annie Get Your Gun in San Diego and she was fierce. She is a wonderful performer.

I can report that the evening was, to quote the night's honoree, 'Wonderful!'
First and foremost, Erika killed with a sultry, sexy "Turn Back O Man", complete with a jazzy, New Orleans-flavored trumpet joining the 3 piece band. I had the good fortune of sitting at a table right behind SS and he seemed very taken with Erika, as were we all.
The night had other standout performances, including Kevin Earley's powerful "Out There" and Eden Espinoza's stunning version of "Meadowlark". There were a couple of hiccups, including a few performers stumbling over their words, but could you blame them? How unnerving it must be to stand mere feet from a musical theater legend and sing his songs!
Bruce Vilanch was way underprepared and was a bit of an embarrasment, and frankly it was an insult to all the wonderfully talented performers who took the time and care to know their stuff. This was my first time at this venue, and the efforts to recreate a NYC supper club for the most part payed off. But WHY oh why must the staff wait until an intimate moment in a performance to start shuffling plates and making cocktails. Here's a thought: Stop for 3 minutes and enjoy something amazing. The hootch can wait! But I digress.
A great night with Erika as a standout (when has she NOT been first rate!)
