Chef Rocco Dispirito to join Chicago?

From today's NY Daily News:

Rocco Dispirito could be moving from the kitchen to Broadway. We hear the celeb chef has been huddling with producers Fran and Barry Weissler about joining the cast of "Chicago." DiSpirito's rep confirms the talks, but says nothing's set. …

They stop at nothing, do they?

I like him and all, but this is weird.

After him they are getting Matthew Lesko (of the annoying "Ask Lesko" commercials) followed by the "Head-ON" (apply directly to the forehead) commercial announcer.

I know Paula Deen was a joke, but wouldn't that be hilarious to watch her sing When You're Good to Mama?
"I hope you're all happy, keeping Alan off the team. Couldn't you, for once, open your minds and hearts and hear something that he couldn't see? I, for one, am glad that Alan is blind, so he can't see what, I am so sad to say, you can't hear." -Jerri Blank

I totally thought this thread was a joke. Ick.

Though Paula singing "When You're Good to Mama" would be worth the price of admission. Too funny! re: Chef Rocco Dispirito to join Chicago?
So, that was the Drowsy Chaperone. Oh, I love it so much. I know it's not a perfect show...but it does what a musical is supposed to do. It takes you to another world, and it gives you a little tune to carry with you in your head for when you're feeling blue. Ya know?

Don't give them any ideas! She has already done a movie (the forgettable 'Elizabethtown').

To be honest with you, I'm still waiting for Fran to cast herself in this!

I have to admit, if they somehow managed to get Anthony Bourdain to play Billy Flynn I might go back to my pre-2004 viewing schedule.

I think they should invite Carol Channing to play Roxie. Seriously, I'm getting sick of CHICAGO's stunt casting. Perhaps it's serving to extend the life of the show, but I don't care. It just shows how desperate they are. I think it brings Broadway down.

LOL! Carol as Roxie. Now I'd see it again for that.

"It's turning into Dinner Theater!"

You know, that works on a couple of different levels...

I enjoy CHICAGO's stunt casting.

I always thought Rocco was kind of good looking...

Well, good looking for a giant tool bag.

The Weisslers must smoke a lot of pot.

re: Chef Rocco Dispirito to join Chicago?

Could they milk this show anymore? It does fine with no stars in the lead, (and I use the word "star" loosely) so why even have them? Save them their dignity, or what's left of it.

re: Chef Rocco Dispirito to join Chicago?

Rocco approached the Weissler's...not the other way around.
