Probably Kerry Butler even though she is 47 years old.

I thought she was great in "Little Shop". And I still would like to know who is playing Ariel?

Kerry Butler has grown so old on me...

Bennett was just being facetious. Kerry is in her early 30s, I believe. I believe that she was Ariel, and that Emily Skinner was Ursula.

I want to say that Kerry's 33 but I'm not quite sure. It's irrelevant anyway because she can still pass for 18.

That would only make her two years young than Emily, who was playing scary old Ursula.

As much as I like Emily, I think she's all wrong for Ursula. My past suggestions for the part have included Chita, Patti LuPone, Eartha Kitt, Julia Murney, and Delta Burke.

I totally agree w/ your choices. Eartha Kitt is like...EXACTLY who I picture in the role.

Last question,Do they ever invite a public audience to workshop productions or just producers?

Sometimes public audiences are allowed with smaller shows that want to get some exposure but I'd be incredibly shocked if Disney allowed the public into one of their workshops.

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!?!??!?!
Disagree.
Edit: I enjoy Patti for Ursula...but Delta Burke would probably only work if they changed Ursula's role so that she doesn't have to move...or sing...or speak at all really. Did you SEE her in Millie??! She was like Simone offensive.

Kerry Bulter is in the workshop as Ariel and I heard her sing "Part of That World" on her website and I almost couldn't tell the difference between her and the original voice of Ariel.........she sounded really good.

Don't rag on Kerry Butler! She is in her early 30s, but she can still pass for 15. And she is a great performer. Kerry Butler would probably be the only reason I would want to see THE LITTLE MERMAID. She is phenomenal. Give the woman a Tony!!

Whoa, horsey, whoa! Now that's a tad dramatic.
