According to E! Online, Cheyenne Jackson may be joining the cast in a regular or semi-regular role on 30 ROCK!

Of all the people they could choose for this brilliantly written show...

... oh, well, it could be much worse...

... but of ALL the people...

I suppose I will content myself with the fact that Tiny Fey knows what she is doing...

And Tina said at the Emmy's that Jane Krakowski's love interest this season is a BIG NAME - and considering last season they had Steve Martin, Oprah, Jennifer Aniston, etc. that means a BIG NAME on the level of De Niro - so unless their first casting choice fell though, this must be ONE of a FEW additions this season.

There is....I read a few of the first scripts of the new season and there will be a new cast member...which infuriates Jane's character. The person was still TBD at that point.

Cheyenne Jackson and Jane Krakowski did work together in Damn Yankees at Encores! last summer, she could have suggested him for a role possibly. It does happen. Carole Shelley was casted in the film Bewitched after Kristin Chenoweth suggested her from working with her previously in Wicked..

Jenna's new love interest is supposedly something set up by the two "actor's" agents for publicity. I bet the new cast member is there to replace Lonny Ross' character Josh, who hasn't been on the show much since season 2. I can find out tomorrow...

I wouldn't know personality, I just find him cute in the way I find tall, lanky Jewish men cute. I was pretty bummed to see his role reduced so much in S3. I hope it's just temporary, as everything I saw online still lists him as being in the show.

Jackson said he originally declined to do XANADU on Broadway once he knew Jane Krakowski was out because he didn't think his chemistry with Krakowski could be replaced, or something to that effect. Either way, I know they each enjoyed working together in XANADU and they sure looked like they were having fun in DAMN YANKEES. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see him in 30 ROCK.

Anyone else think it's weird that he auditioned for "A Little Night Music" even though he's already in "Finian's Rainbow." I guess no one has much hope for that show, but I'd imagine it would last AT LEAST until Christmas.

When I just signed on to Yahoo, Cheyenne's name was listed as the #1 searched name.

Soon, he'll be too big for Broadway.

30 Rock producers confirm Jackson

Will Cheyenne be a regular and what will his character be?


He'll be hopefully coming in and out. He's a busy guy and we've had him in for one [episode]. The idea is that he's someone in our world and one of the work place arcs in the beginning of the season is Jack and his effort to appeal to a broader audience into what he keeps calling "real America" to Liz's dismay. He wants to bring in a new cast member to TGS and Cheyenne ultimately fills that role.
