Chitty- New tour?

Hi Guys! I hope everyone is well. Just read in the post by sam31 that 'Chitty' is going to be touring again, this time to woking. Surely they must be down-sizing the show a lot to fit in to a theatre of this size? It also seems that it's only there for about three weeks, which seems a very short run for what was once a huge show! Any views?

The big venues that took it the first time wont be taking it again so it will be downsized to fit the general touring circuit.
It will be doing one night stands in Texaco garages by 2012.
The interest in the show on tour disappeared rather fast and its future tour to the East has been put on hold sadly as that meant is was going to play Hong Kong etc and eventually end up in Australia. Not any more I'm afraid.

Funny how this never really made the kind of money people expected- including me.

I keep waiting for Charlie & the Chocolate Factory to hit the stage (with the Bricusse score). Would that do any better?

****BTW**** have you seen the new poster for the Broadway 'Guys and Dolls' ????
Its been posted on a thread over on the other side and it stinks!
The first thing i noticed was how they stole the same lettering from the Nationals production. as soon as I pointed this out, a huge wall of bricks came down on me!
Take a look! See what you think!

re: Chitty- New tour?

I think the problem is if you use words like stole (which you can't actually do unless a registered logo/typeface) it rather sets people off. I also think you said that the Guys lettering is from the National Theatre production and it isn't. It is similar but not the same font at all. Again , if you'd said reminiscent, people might not have reacted in the way they did. All about the tone really.
