She's even less of a name here than she is in America. Seems strange to bring her in for 4 weeks so soon before the show closes. The Roxie we have atm is very good - stupid decision to replace her with Christie for 4 weeks.
At the moment it's closing - Matilda needed the Cambridge because of the amount of understage space and has a central aisle. The producers of Chicago haven't been able to find an appropriate theatre.
It's interesting to note that none of the press releases make any reference to the kinds of reviews or reception that Brinkley has received on Broadway. I guess with CHICAGO it doesn't matter whether you're good or bad--so long as you're filling seats.
So it looks like she is now joining the tour: "After her critically acclaimed debut as Roxie Hart on Broadway and in London's West End, Christie Brinkley, one of the world's most successful supermodels, will make her Broadway tour debut as she reprises her killer role in the six-time Tony Award®-winning musical smash hit CHICAGO. Catch her red-handed for a strict new one-week engagement at DPAC!"
