It will be 6 months after it closed when Time Stands Still returns, so depending on that rule, bjh, it may be considered a separate production.

That's why I said I wasn't sure of the time period. But also, it will DEFINITELY be a transfer and not a new production. The entire design team is staying the same and MTC is still producing.

"I LOVED Hocus Pocus! Bette Midler's "I Put a Spell On You" is on my iPod.

Addams Family Values, That Darn Cat. Good stuff. And yeah, Casper was one of my favorites."

Well, she wasn't in "Hocus Pocus," that was Thora Birch...

But you're kind of proving my point. "That Darn Cat"?! "Casper"?!? And sure, she had a great 13-year-old deadpan face in the "Addams Family" movies, but I just am trying to understand where all these superlatives flying her way are coming from.

No one said "Oh, I love her in those silly movies from when I was little!" You guys used words like "impeccable," "phenomenal" and "superb."

I can picture Ricci being good on stage. She has a bit of a Bette Davis quality where you're always aware that she's acting.

I thought her performance in Black Snake Moan was pretty great. The scene where she attacks her mom in the grocery store is good stuff.

"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter

Christina Ricci made The Addams Family and Casper for me. To me, she WAS Cat and Wednesday. And I don't think any other actress can be Wednesday (no offense to the actress currently playing it on Broadway). The girl who was Wednesday in Addams Family Reunion was absolutely horrific.

My brother works for Elle and did a fashion shoot with her a while back, which I have some pictures of lying around somewhere (autographed!!)... I'll have to upload them when I find them.

But I will most certainly have to see this one :)

If you actually read our conversation, we were talking about Thora Birch, too.

Even though Ricci was in those cheesy, silly comedies when she was a kid, she was still insanely talented. There was something special about her. That is why people are saying she will be superb.

She was excellent in MONSTER. And very overshadowed by Charlize Theron's brilliant performance.

If you're searching for Ricci's impeccable work, try watching some of her later films. While she is mainly known for being the cute kid (and later - odd teen) with the deadpan face, she grew into quite the strong actress. Her work in Prozac Nation (though the movie itself butchered the book), Black Snake Moan, and Monster is very good. Plus I'm in the small group of people who thought she deserved recognition for The Opposite of Sex. A very underrated movie in which she spits venom with every line and completely rules each scene she is in. Though I suppose some credit should be given to the script and great supporting players. Lisa Kudrow in particular proved long before "The Comeback" that she could do more than just be the schticky wacky Phoebe.

Basically, Ricci is one of those actresses most would just toss in the child-star pile. However, she has proven that she is a lot more than that and I can't wait to see her tackle Time Stands Still.
