Apparently her audition was nothing short of incredible. I know someone who was in the room. She said everyone was in awe.
Very interesting, but good casting. Hopefully, she will be just as good as Alicia.
Interesting.
I am glad I will finally get to see this play.
Will Ricci be eligible for a Tony? Obviously those who weren't in it before, won't be eligible, but would she? Will it be treated as a transfer or a revival?

Either way the show will be ineligible. Revivals have a 3 (or 5, I can't remember) years where the show can't be playing to be eligible for the TONYS.
I approve of this casting.
Why are the best moments of this season all occurring outside the peak summer months when the rest of the world might have a better opportunity to see them? ARRRRRRRGGGGHHH!!!
Ricci is an impeccable actress. Great casting!
I've always wanted to see her do some theatre. I think she's a phenomenal actress and I think people forget that sometimes. Good to see she'll be stepping into a show we already know is a success, both critically and otherwise.

It won't be eligible, but she should be.

Quite frankly, the Tony for best featured actress should be Silverstone's to lose.

That's why I said it should be her's to lose.
Very excited to see this excellent show again!
wow this woman is a superb actress, great casting

I definitely look forward to seeing her in that role.
I will say, I think she seems very well-suited to the role, and I'm sure she'll be terrific... but what exactly are you all basing her being a "impeccable," "phenomenal," "superb" actress on?
She's quite good in "Black Snake Moan" and "The Opposite of Sex," and she had some moments in "Monster" (though that's a very hit-and-miss performance), but she's never really had a great showcase.
I'm not being snarky, I'm genuinely asking.

I love her in Casper and she's great in The Ice Storm.
I'm just excited to get an opporutunity to see this. I'm sure I'll be seeing N2N to catch BDJ back, and then this is the fall: Priceless!

Sorry I had missed the original run, but now, I can't wait to see it, esp for LINNEY and now RICCI...Wow!
There were a few years of my life when I watched NOW & THEN at every single sleepover. My tween-hood was basically defined by Christina Ricci, Thora Birch, and Gaby Hoffman.
I'm thrilled with this. I'll be back to see the show again.
The rule about revivals is three years, which is why WHITE CHRISTMAS was not eligible as a revival this year. But the performances from WHITE CHRISTMAS were eligible, so I don't see why Ricci wouldn't be. Of course, the Tony committee could always change the rules or arbitrarily decide this is a transfer with a normal cast replacement, and not a new production of a show from the previous season. Who knows?
In addition to the 3-year revival rule, there is a 3-month (I think... that time period might be wrong) transfer rule. If a show is transferring theatres, it can be done within 3 months and still be considered the same production. I remember reading about it way back when Beauty and the Beast transferred from the Palace. They took two months to do the transfer. So White Christmas isn't a "transfer" or "hiatus" as it's longer than that time period. My guess is that Time Stands Still will just be considered a transfer, and thus the performances will be ineligible next year.
So happy that this play is continuing on! I'm excited to see this cast on stage again and looking forward to seeing how Christina Ricci will do.

haha, ME TOO! I loved Christina Ricci when she was a kid... Mermaids, Now and Then, Casper... not so much as she got older (Monster is so brilliant, but I cringe watching/listening to her sometimes). And Thora Birch, yes! haha... I joke that I feel like I sort of grew up with Thora just by watching her movies throughout my life: Hocus Pocus ~> Monkey Trouble ~> Now & Then ~> Ghost World ~> American Beauty.
But anyway, very curious and excited to see Christina's debut!
I LOVED Hocus Pocus! Bette Midler's "I Put a Spell On You" is on my iPod.
Addams Family Values, That Darn Cat. Good stuff. And yeah, Casper was one of my favorites.
